Happy Independence Day! This week, we’ve been telling you about all the Fourth of July treats around Walt Disney World, including the crazy sundae from Disney Springs and the birthday cake ice cream cookie sandwich from Magic Kingdom.
Today, we tried the Fourth of July Cupcake from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort!
This patriotic treat is a yellow cupcake with lemon-blueberry filling and red, white, and blue buttercream stars.
We’ve eaten A. LOT. OF. CUPCAKES. today, and this was was kiiiiiiiind of the worst of the bunch, I hate to say. The cake was a bit dry and the icing was so sugary sweet (not in a good way). We did like the blueberry filling, but the cupcake as a whole was not our favorite. But hey — at least it looks like Captain America!
If you want to try this cupcake, you can do grab it today for $5.99 at Captain Cook’s or Kona Island Coffee Bar at the Polynesian Village Resort. But if you want to try one we thoroughly enjoyed, check out the Apple Pie Cupcake from Roaring Fork at Wilderness Lodge.
