Move over plastic refillable resort mugs! There’s a new kid in town!
Check out the newest refillable mug that’s just landed at Disney World! Yup — it’s a TOTALLY new design and MATERIAL making it one super-classy tumbler, indeed!
Here it is, folks! The new Disney Skyliner Refillable Mug! Like its plastic counterpart, it’s insulated to keep hot things hot and cold things cold, but check out its sleek, stainless steel construction! And we love the retro-inspired Disney Skyliner graphic it features!
We’d buy this thing just because it’s a cool-looking tumbler, but the fact that its also part of Disney World’s Refillable Mug Program is a HUGE bonus!
The Skyliner Refillable Mug costs $10 more than the Plastic Refillable Mug (which just saw a price increase to $19.99 in October), but we can envision ourselves actually using this thing on the regular after a Disney trip!
You can also purchase the Skyliner Refillable Mug for $29.99 in case you aren’t staying on Disney World property. Its sticker says it can keep drinks hot for up to 4 hours while cold drinks will stay cold for up to 12 hours!
But note that the bottom of the new Skyliner Refillable Mug says the lid isn’t leak-proof, FYI!
And since this new design doesn’t feature a handle like the plastic version, you might want to take that into consideration if you’re the “Refillable Mug Person-In-Charge” who’s responsible for shuttling your family’s mugs to and from the food court — it might be a little bit trickier juggling these bad boys!
We saw the Skyliner Refillable Mug at Everything Pop Food Court at Disney’s Pop Century Resort this morning, but keep your eyes peeled for them at other Disney World resorts!

Andrea says
If the lid isn’t leak-proof I don’t see the point of it.
Roxane says
Disney found yet another way to get more $$$ out of us.
Wendy Hillman says
I still cannot fathom why, in 2019, that they still can’t make the refillable mugs re-programmable for multiple trips. We are DVC members and do the Disney Dining Plan often but I hate having to get new mugs each time. I’d rather just bring the mugs we have and get them reprogrammed. I guess if they can’t even get their chip readers to work at the registers and you have to have a Passholder card for the sole purpose of getting discount since for some reason they can’t get it off your MagicBand, it’s expecting a lot to think they can make a mug re-programmable.
John wells says
Hi we’re can you purchase this new skyliner mug if your not staying at the pop century resort or at walt Disney World
Brandon says
First off:
The lids on the plastic ones are not leak proof either.
2:
If that’s a standard size vacuum sealed mug, you can get a replacement lid from Walmart for $3 that would seal-ish
3:
Disney is all about the optics of reducing plastic. But they don’t let you re-use your refillable mug on multiple trips. You are required to buy a new one every time. So there goes that stupid argument.
4:
It is about Time be they finally begin selling these awesome vacuum sealed mugs as an alternative to these awful plastic ones.
I would buy one on every trip.
Melonie says
Bow many ounces does it hold?
Nicole wiese says
Can you get this on the dining plan and pay the difference??
Toni Kaminski says
Does it hold the same amount as the original mug?
Kathie says
Love this, I hope they have them at Pop this spring.
Mary Anne says
They aren’t leakproof, they have no handles, and they cost $10 more than the “old” mugs. Another attempt for Disney to give less and charge more.
BBJackson says
I think that they are wonderful! But I can see using them more when we’re back at home or without kids at WDW. I love being able to clip my family’s mugs to our stroller with a giant carabiner. However, since these don’t have handles, that’s a no go. And yes, I know that the mugs aren’t refillable at parks. But they are good for water refills as well as our morning beverages that we enjoy on our way to parks.
Ronald Johnson says
Are the new mugs refillable only at the resorts, just like the plastic ones?
Will the plastic mugs with handles still be available?
Debwdw says
If you buy one and not on a trip, ie. Passholder not staying in a resort. How long are they refillable?
Monica Kruschke says
Am staying at Pop century now and it just came out this week. Looked it over and decided that I can get better quality mugs back home.
Essie says
Like everything in life they’re pros and cons in every issue. The metal is good for the environment, but the price would really add up for families.
Essie says
Also, keeping the beverages cold or hot longer would be a huge advantage!
DFB Sarah says
DebWDW, what we’ve been told by cast members is that you can buy the mug without staying at a Resort, but it will not be eligible for a beverage.
DFB Sarah says
Ronald, the mugs with the handles were still available where we spotted the new metal ones. Refillable mugs you get at your Resort are only refillable at the Resort for length-of-stay, although you could bring it with you to a Park and refill with water (or pour your purchased beverages into it).
DFB Sarah says
Toni, it appears to hold at least as much, but we didn’t confirm this.
DFB Sarah says
Nicole, yes! It’s $10 difference.
DFB Sarah says
John, you’d have to get to a Skyliner Resort somehow.
Chris says
It is 20oz and holds more than the standard mug. It is super sleek looking and something I will use everyday when I leave Disney. $10 is the best deal on property and I am amazed. Very few lids on any mugs a leak proof and I am sure just like everything the disclaimer is just to protect them from law suits. I hope they come out with other designs and colors. We also love the seasonal designs now offered.
Chris says
Can I purchase one online (can’t find a link)? Would like to get one for my wife for Christmas so that she could use it on our Disney trip in 2020.
Basil of Baker Street says
Might come in handy if stuck on the Skyliner for 4 hours.
Marty says
Got one during our thanksgiving trip. Well worth it. Picked it up the first day at the beach club. Looks much better than the others and seems like It holds a bit more. Took it into the parks works great to put our free ice and water in the parks and when we got ice tea at Starbucks just dumped it in. Was able to set sideways on star tours no leaks. Just make sure you have your own straw does not come with one.
Kathleen Dorsam says
I hope they still have them in April.
Jenn says
I personally like having a handle. No for me…
MicKay says
$30 US for a lid that is not leak proof? Until I saw that I was going to get a couple next year. Too bad. I’ll just bring my own instead. Not WDW ones but leak proof.
Rachael says
No handle? That’s a no-go for me I’ll stick to the plastic ones until they can make the new ones more convenient to travel with!
Sara says
If you buy one of these mugs and you are not on the dining plan – are you able to use it for unlimited refills?
DFB Sarah says
Sara, you are able to use it for the length of stay at your Resort (and other Resorts), just as folks on the Dining Plan are able to do. The only difference is you’re paying out of pocket, while theirs is included in the cost of their Dining Plan.
Brandon says
Yes. It can be charged up even if you are not on the dining plan. I bought one last week while we were there.
I was not on the dining plan.
I bought it on Dec 21 and it said it was active until Jan 3rd.
Brandon says
Also…I keep reading about people complaining about the kid not being sealed completely.
But the plastic cup does not have an Air tight sealed lid either.
Also. The vacuum cup lid is pretty tight. If it’s closed when you try to put it on, the lid won’t close until you slide it open. So it’s mostly air tight.
Amanda S says
Are these still around? Are refillable mugs still available?
DFB Sarah says
Amanda, yes, refillable mugs are available for purchase. Cast Members will give you cups of beverages that you can pour into your mug (or just drink from the cup).
Caity says
I was looking to see if these still existed because it was totally worth the upcharge when we got these back in 2020. The plastic ones aren’t really great quality and wouldn’t get used once I get home, but the steel one is added into my coffee routine. Wish the steel ones would come back
