While there is a lot of uncertainty in the news, we’re also hearing of incredibly good news and uplifting stories! Communities and individuals have stepped forward and gone above and beyond in doing what they can to make the current situation a little brighter and better.

We recently shared some inspiring stories coming out of Disney in recent weeks, and today we’re sharing news of a Disney icon stepping up in this time of need!

According to Variety, after Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson recovered from the virus and they are making sure they are doing what they can to help find a cure! They are both donating their blood in the hopes of developing a vaccine.

In March, Tom Hanks became one of the first celebrities to publicly announce that he had come down with the virus. He and his wife both became sick while Hanks was working on a film project in Australia. In the article, Hanks expressed his hopes that the vaccine would be referred to as a “Hank-ccine.” We personally wouldn’t mind if that became its official name!
