Recently the NBA announced its decision to allow several teams to finish their 2020 season in Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.Â
And now, we just found out the NBA players will be permitted to invite family and friends as they advance in the playoffs!
According to NBA analyst, Kevin O’Connor, each team will be able to reserve a block of up to 17 rooms for their guests! Players will be required to pay for the rooms out of their own pockets and any guests they invite will need to self-quarantine for three days before coming to Disney World. Once they arrive, they’ll be tested and must quarantine themselves again for another four days.
Sources: Each NBA team that advances past round one can reserve up to 17 rooms for guests of players. Players are responsible for costs of the rooms. Guests must undergo three days of self-quarantine and testing before entering Disney, then quarantine for four days after arrival.

Even though we don’t know officially which Disney World resorts the NBA players will be staying at, it has been shared that they won’t be allowed to roam the theme parks during their downtime. The NBA will resume its season on July 31st with a 22-team format.

If their guests have to quarantine, does that mean other guests to Disney will have to as well?
DFB Sarah says
Kathy, not as far as we know. This seems to be isolated to the players/team personnel.
