We’ve had a lot of great treats to celebrate Halloween in Disney World, but what if you can’t make it to the parks?
Halloween is sure to look different this year with all of the health concerns surrounding the global health crisis. So, if you’re looking for ways to throw a jammin’ celebration for yourself we’ve got some spooky recipes to help!
1. Winfred’s Pumpkin Broomstick Twists
Are you a Hocus Pocus fan? Then channel your inner Sanderson Sister with Winifred’s Pumpkin Broomstick Twists. Oh, and grab a seat to cheer for Binx while you’re at it.
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon instant pectin
- 2 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice, divided
- 1 cup pumpkin purée
- 3 (17.3 ounce) boxes frozen puff pastry, thawed (6 sheets)
- 1/4 cup sanding sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
Pumpkin and puff pastry? Seriously, sign us up!
2. Mickey Pumpkin Truffles
Speaking of pumpkin (spoiler alert: that’s kind of a theme on this list), look at these super cute Mickey Pumpkin Truffles inspired by the iconic Main Street, U.S.A. Mickey pumpkin!
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- 36 chocolate sandwich cookies
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 package orange candy melts
- Yellow, orange, and green fondant
Weirdly enough, these little treats don’t even have any pumpkin flavor to them!
We know, we know, a fall treat without pumpkin?! Well, these truffles still look as sweet as can be!
3. The Evil Queen’s Mini Poison Apple Pies
This next one might be the most villainous of all the treats on this list! Where better to serve The Evil Queen’s Mini Poison Apple Pies than in teeny tiny little cauldrons?
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- 1 can whole berry cranberries
- 1 apple, peeled and diced
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 store-bought pie crusts
- Large, round cookie cutter (3-4 inches)
- Mini pie or muffin tins
- Toothpick
- 1 tablespoon coconut, grapeseed, or olive oil
Don’t worry, there’s no REAL poison in these pies. So go crazy!
4. Zero Marshmallows
Got any The Nightmare Before Christmas lovers? Who are we kidding? Of course, we do! You can spice up your frothy fall-time drink (Is it too early for hot cocoa?) with these VERY cool Zero Marshmallows!
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- 1/3 cup cornflour
- 1 1/3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup + 4 tablespoons water
- 1 1/3 tablespoons gelatin powder
- 1/4 cup egg white 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/3 cup corn syrup
- Piping bag and tip
- Scissors
- Melted chocolate or food marker
- Round orange sprinkles
- Store-bought pink marshmallows
This recipe is kind of tricky so make sure you’re following along closely!
Who would have known that crafting marshmallows could be so complicated yet rewarding!?
5. Harvest of Devious Apples
Was that poison apple pie from earlier not good enough for you? Well, if you like the poison apple vibes without the apple flavor, you can whip up this Harvest of Devious Apples. Oh, yeah, they’re actually cake pops.
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- Cake pop kit
- Red candy melts
- White candy melts
- Piping bag
This one might be one of the simplest recipes but it will require some truly villainous craftsmanship to get that drip just right!
6. Oogie Boogie Trifle
We’ve got another one for you The Nightmare Before Christmas lovers! Check out this Oogie Boogie Trifle. Don’t get too scared by the bugs, they’re just gummies!
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- 2 (6.6 oz.) boxes chocolate instant pudding mix
- 3 cups (whole or 2%) milk
- 1 16 oz. container whipped topping (or 16 oz. whipped cream)
- 1 (15.25 oz.) box chocolate cake mix plus ingredients on back
- 20 chocolate sandwich cookies
- 7 oz. bag of gummy bugs
We love the spooky green hue of the final product!
6. Mike Wazowski Eye
This next treat is seriously mind-boggling. Can you think of anything that will wow your family more than this Mike Wazowski Eye?
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- 6 ice ball molds or small round bowls
- 2 (13.5 oz.) cans unsweetened coconut milk
- 1 cup of coconut water
- â…” cup of sugar
- 3 teaspoons agar powder
- Red, blue, green food coloring
Don’t freak out, we know it looks like a REAL monster eye but it’s actually completely edible!
Hmm…gooey and coconut-y? We’d give it a try!
7. Spider Cotton Candy Popcorn
Here’s an easy one for those of us that might not be as culinary inclined. Look at this ooky-spooky Spider Cotton Candy Popcorn!
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- Small Cups
- Popcorn
- Pretzels
- Candy Corn
- Chocolate Drizzle
- Cotton Candy
- Sprinkles
- Toy Spiders

8. Pumpkin Pancakes
Is it really fall until you’ve had Pumpkin Pancakes? We’ll answer for you: No.
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/3 cup canned pumpkin
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
A BIG part of the art of making breakfast is piling that final stack on your plate so take care to get it just right!
9. Pumpkin Soup
For those who are savory fans, a Pumpkin Soup might be a great go-to.
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small white onion, diced
- 1 cup diced butternut squash (skin and seeds removed)
- 3 cups canned pumpkin (approximately 1 ½ 15-ounce cans)
- 1 tablespoon honey or light agave syrup
- 2 cups of water
- ¼ cup apple juice concentrate
- 2 teaspoons vegetable bouillon
- ½ teaspoon curry powder
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- ½ teaspoon white pepper
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 6 tablespoons pepitas (pumpkin seeds), roasted and salted (for garnish)
Heads up! This one might have a little bit of a kick!
10. Pumpkin Creme Brulee
Make it a full three-course pumpkin meal by wrapping up with the Pumpkin Creme Brulee. Yes, you heard us. YUM.
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon plus 2 1/4 teaspoons all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- Pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons almond flour
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 drop orange food coloring
- 1 cup pecans
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 10 egg yolks
- 6 teaspoons sugar
Creme brulee can be tricky so don’t feel disgruntled if you don’t get it right at first. Give it another try!
11. Pumpkin Bars
Look, treats in bar-form are just extra special. Lemon bars? Turtle bars? We’ll take them all. So, it’s pretty exciting when we find a tasty PUMPKIN Bar recipe.
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- 1 3/4 cups graham cracker crumbs (about 1/2 of a 14-ounce box)
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 15-ounce can pumpkin purée
- 1 12-ounce can evaporated milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground clove
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
These can be pretty to share with lots of people or a GREAT multi-day (or one-sitting, we don’t judge) snack for YOU!
12. The Nightmare Before Christmas Donuts
And finally, we’re wrapping up with some Specialty Donuts inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas. You might spot some familiar faces in these decorations.
For this recipe, you’ll need:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Black, orange, and teal (can mix blue and green) food coloring
- Piping bag and tip
- Donut pan
- Vegetable oil
- Red sour belts
- Scissors
This recipe will teach you how to craft a Jack Skellington Donut, a Zero Donut, and a Sally Donut.
