REVIEW! Gideon's Bakehouse New Spicy Cookies Are 🔥 in Disney World!

If you’ve been keeping up with us, you know that we fell hard for this cookie haven that opened last month at Disney Springs. And, really, it’s hard not to fall head over heels for a 1/2 pound cookie the size of your face! Today is the first day of the month so out with the old Coffee Toffee Cookie and in with a NEW cookie of the month (and MORE)! The bakehouse has been releasing a limited-time cookie each month so guests can explore new flavors of ginormous cookies. Be still our hearts.

We could talk about our love for this unique bakehouse for days, but that’s not why you’re here! So without further ado, we present the February cookie of the month — Eternal Flame! But wait, there’s MORE! Gideon’s Bakehouse surprised us all with TWO MORE February specials including the Eternal Flame Double Frosted Cake and the Eternal Flame EXTRA SPICY cookie! 🔥🔥🔥

Obviously we had to try it all so we headed to Disney Springs to be one of the first in line for these new offerings! Plus, Gideon’s Bakehouse shared on Instagram that the cookie and cake pair well with the Ginger Snap Cold Brew, so we had to give that a try too (duh!).

This month’s cookie is packed with spicy flavor (and we’re not mad about it)! The Eternal Flame Cookie is a dark chocolate cookie laced with ancho, cayenne, and cinnamon. And it’s topped with chocolate covered cherries. Gideon’s described the flavor as “a deep chocolate flavor followed by the tingling warmth of a first kiss and sweet aftertaste of cherries.” But enough about ingredients. Let’s chat about TASTE!

We seriously enjoyed this cookie and can confirm that it’s got a kick on the back end! The spicy flavor of the cayenne and ancho are balanced out by the sweetness from the chocolate and tart cherries, making this cookie a home run in our books.

C’mon, just look at that velvety chocolate cookie! And, if you’re feeling extra adventurous, the bonus cookie, Eternal Flame Extra Spicy Cookie brings some serious 🔥 to the dessert. The 2X Limited Edition cookie has the same dark chocolate cookie laced with ancho, cayenne, and cinnamon and topped with chocolate covered cherries but has EXTRA HEAT and is sprinkled with red sugar crystals on top.

When we put in our order at Gideon’s for this cookie, everyone was like “are you sure!?” Not all visitors are prepared to level up an already spicy cookie. But, we don’t let spice scare us off! Plus, it gave us a great excuse to order a cup of Vanilla Buttercream Frosting (because who doesn’t love a tub of Gideon’s frosting?!).

The Eternal Flame Extra Spicy Cookie itself delivers on it’s promise and it VERY hot! But, our reporter who gave this a try likes spice so actually really enjoyed the added flavor. Plus, the buttercream from the frosting balanced out the heat well and was nothing short of incredible. Cookie + frosting = match made in dessert heaven.

There’s no mistaking which cookie is which when you order both thanks to the fire-y red sugar crystals on the extra hot version. Each chunky specialty cookie is $6 and is ONLY available in the month of February!

If you’re a fan of spicy flavors or more of an adventurous eater you’ll likely enjoy these cookies (much like our reporter). BUT, these cookies come with a warning label — if you’re not a fan of spicy food or spicy desserts, it might be best to pass on this one.

Ginger Snap Cold Brew

And, per Gideon’s suggestion, we paired the cookies with the Ginger Snap Cold Brew for $6. This drink is available throughout the year at the bakehouse, and paired really well with the cookies. It’s not too sweet but we pick up lots of ginger snap flavor!

But wait, what about the Eternal Flame Double Frosted Cake?! The February cake hadn’t made it’s way to Disney Springs when we stopped by but you get we’ll be back to give it a try so stay tuned!

Before you head over to Disney Springs to grab yourself one of these babies, be sure to check out all our experiences with Gideon’s virtual waitlist.
