Permit Shows New Addition Coming to EPCOT's Future World!

Remember the middle of Future World in EPCOT?

With all the construction barriers in the area, it’s been a looooong time since we’ve been able to stroll through. Now though, we’ve got a new update on what’s going on BEHIND the barriers!

Today, we spotted that Disney has filed a permit for the “Installation of speaker mounts” at the address coded to the former home of Pin Central. That’s RIGHT in the middle of what will soon be World Celebration!

World Celebration is being introduced as part of the EPCOT Transformation that will include the new entrance area. Plus, there will be a new Walt Disney statue and Festival Pavilion! We’re not sure what exact feature will end up on the old Pin Central plot, though.

The permit was filed with a stage company that typically does show-related work for Disney. The speaker mounts could be to support ambient speakers like we see around the park already, or they could be for something more exciting like to supplement the new lighting on Spaceship Earth!

Whatever the case, it is exciting to see new EPCOT permits as the work keeps moving forward! As always, stay tuned to DFB for the latest permit updates from Disney!
