So many of us Disney fans have rooms in our house devoted to the Mouse and everything else Disney. Or ENTIRE houses devoted to Disney. Or we, at least, have lots of Disney stuff spread throughout our homes (guilty!!!).
After all, Disney makes it way too easy to get Disney kitchenware, bedroom gear, and more.
However, one architect, Mat, took inspiration from Disneyland for a remodel of a suburban London home. And no, he didn’t make it look like Sleeping Beauty Castle. Instead, his muse was the snow-covered peaks of the Matterhorn! He used the basic design of the Matterhorn for the front of the house, as reported by Architectural Digest.
He calls the structure “Mountain View,” but it has other inspirations, too: the movie Trainspotting and Sir John Soane’s Museum in London. However, as you may know, we’re obviously here for the Disney reference. 😁
It’s really cool, though, to see how Disney structures have inspired architects out there in the “real” world. Most of the interior is inspired by other things, but the outside certainly makes us miss riding the Matterhorn! If we see any other cool houses or buildings inspired by Disney, we’ll let you know!
