We would do a LOT of things for the treats at Gideon’s Bakehouse.

We’ve waited hours (and trust us, it was worth it) to get inside to pick up our sweet treat fix. But what one man did for his Gideon’s is flat-out inspiring — and exhausting.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, marathoner Gregory Ryan decided to run a MARATHON between Gideon’s Bakehouse’s 2 locations. Guys, we’ve gotta put this is perspective. The Gideon’s in Audubon Park’s East End Market is about a half hour drive from the Gideon’s in Disney Springs. And the walk is just over 20 miles!

Of course, 20 miles isn’t a full marathon, so Ryan tacked a few detours onto his route to get the full 26.2-mile course. Then he posted on social media with the hashtag #Gideons2Gideons, encouraging his followers to donate to the Cast Member Pantry. A quest for cookies WITH a good cause?! Sign us up!

The marathon took him just over 5 hours, and he had plenty of friends pop up along the way to cheer him on! But we know what you’re REALLY wondering: what did Ryan get once he got to the Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs?! He stood in line for an hour and scooped up a Peanut Butter, Chocolate, and Banana Cake. GREAT choice.

With many marathons suspended due to the ongoing pandemic, Ryan’s mission was a fun way to challenge himself while supporting a good cause. Plus, he ended the day with a sweet treat.
