Last year, the global health pandemic changed our lives — including our lives at Disney World.
After Disney World reopened, the parks were drastically different with new health and safety guidelines, including the requirement of facial coverings for all guests over the age of 2, social distancing, and an increase in cleaning and sanitization throughout the parks.
But as we get into further 2021, things are beginning to change again: vaccinations are now available, and those who have been vaccinated have been cleared by the CDC to gather in small groups without masks.
Recently, President Biden’s Chief Medical Adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci told CNN that we’ll have more normalcy in the U.S. by the 4th of July as more Americans get vaccinated.
He said, “If by the time we get to the Fourth of July, with the rollout of the vaccine, we get the level of infection so low — I’m not going to be able to tell you exactly what the specific guidelines of the (US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) are, but I can tell you for sure (guidelines) will be much more liberal than they are right now about what you can do.”
When asked if people can return to a degree of normalcy without masks and social distancing by the Fourth of July, he replied, “Yes…there will be a greater degree of confidence” in that. He had previously indicated, though, that Americans might need to continue to wear masks outside their homes in 2022.
Disney CEO Bob Chapek also previously suggested that Disney World would probably still expect guests to wear masks throughout 2021, although he added by saying: “a game-changer would be if everyone who wants a vaccine can get a vaccine in April.”
President Biden recently directed states to make all adults eligible for COVID-19 vaccines by May this year. He also said that Americans should be able to gather in small groups by the 4th of July.
These plans could change, and we’ll keep you updated on COVID-19 news that could impact your Disney vacation.

Lord I hope this is true! Not that I’ve ever worn a face mask, but I really don’t want to wear one at Disney in September. 🤞🏻

But children under 16 will NOT be vaccinated and that is a good % of visitors at Disney. I really hope the parks keep this in mind if they were to reevaluate their policies.

Well…the ‘return to normal’ ship is already underway, Florida, Texas, Alabama… I’m at Legoland right now and….virus? What virus?
He’s just putting himself in a position where he can say this was his plan all along even though by Independence Day, everyone will be pretty much ignoring him.

Let us hope so! I am not going until my smaller kids – at least, do not need masks

My opinion: Dr. Fauci is an expert on one-lane of the Covid highway Let’s gather experts in other lanes such as mental health. employment, education, theraputics etc. etc. to weigh in on our direction moving forward per Covid-19. One opinion for 50 states , different populations, different population density, types of work, weather, activities etc. seems to be far less informed than it should be. We are now coming out of winter, millions are being vaccinated, ad there are theraputics to be used if necessary. House to house based on who lives within has dealt with the pandemic differently. How can we begin to dictate everything on a national level? It is hard enough to even do so state by state. My opinon: It is time to look at the entire picture through the lens of many qualified experts.

Cancel fauci. I am not reading this article and if he is on video, I change the source. No thumbs up or down. This political person is very inconsistent. Not professional.

The good news is that kids 16 and under are at a very low risk from COVID. The common flu is more dangerous to children. They can catch and transmit it, though, which is why it is good for adults to get vaccinated. Just got my first shot today.

We are tentatively planning our return to Disney for October 2022 to attend the Halloween party. Might even go again in December for the Christmas party. That’s what we HAD planned for 2020. I doubt that things will have returned to normal by THIS fall/winter, but they should by next fall/winter. We’re not going to spend thousands of dollars to fly to Disney, wear masks all day, and have no fireworks or parades or parties. Forget it.

Lol, the government says they will “allow” people to gather in small groups! Sad that they think they can tell me who I can have in my home or business, or how many people I can have. Open up 100% wear a mask if you want, or don’t. Sign a wavier when you check in and get on with life!
