There is so much to see and do at EPCOT, especially when there’s a festival going on. However, one of our favorite stops is one that many people probably miss!
This is an appreciation post for the Odyssey Building, which currently is known for housing the EPCOT Experience.
If you weren’t looking for this building, it’s totally possible you’ve walked right by it!
In our humble opinion, it’s a totally underrated spot in EPCOT. In addition to hosting the part-show-part-exhibit, the EPCOT experience has a lot of space (and A/C!) and cool things to look at while you take a breather from the busy park day.
While the show itself is pretty cool to experience — hello fancy projection mapping — you can also see a lot of details of the changes coming to the park around the lobby and sitting areas, like in these awesome display cases!
The displays show models from upcoming rides like Rémy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, as well as having more info about what is in store! There are also some pretty cute photo ops around the building, like this sweet Spaceship Earth setup.
And there’s a cool video that will show you EVERYTHING new that is coming to the park. Here’s a look at what the display looks like when the upcoming Play! Pavilion that’s coming to the park.
If you aren’t necessarily in the mood to look around, may we interest you in some air-conditioned seating??
Not only is this a nice break from the sun, but there’s plenty of seats in this building, and lots to look at even while seated — the walls are covered in EPCOT concept art and vintage-style ride posters!
Since there’s so much space and seating, this would be a great spot to sit down with a snack! Grab a bite from a nearby cart, like the Donut Box, or even swinging by the Mexico Pavillion and enjoy your meal in the shade. We hardly ever see crowds here, and sometimes the building even has a snack cart of its own (although it’s closed right now).
Also, something people don’t think about when planning their park days (even though they should): bathrooms! The EPCOT Experience has two different bathrooms, one inside and one outside. And tbh…these are pretty nice.
The outdoor bathroom is usually the more crowded one, probably because people can see it as they walk by. The indoor bathroom, however, is never very busy and is newly remodeled! It tends to feel really clean, especially for a Disney bathroom. There’s also a place where you can refill your water bottles over in this same area.
What some people also might not even realize is that this building houses a Baby Care area and a First Aid center! SO many hidden gems.
All in all, there’s a lot of cool stuff tucked away in this building, and we have to say — they really nailed the vibes on the color scheme here.
Although this building is a little off the beaten path at EPCOT, it has a lot to offer by the way of entertainment, and as a rest stop. The EPCOT Experience show runs on a 10-minute loop, so you can catch it any time, and kids will probably love getting to look at all the fun details around the building. Even if you’re in a hurry to pack everything in on your next EPCOT park day, you should totally consider stopping by.
There’s SO much going on in EPCOT lately — did you miss this latest update?
