We have gotten a LOT of updates about Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.

Train Station
Not only will Magic Kingdom be getting a new Character Cavalcade and new golden statues, but it will also be getting a brand new FIREWORKS SHOW. Today, we might have spotted another hint at what’s coming. Could the Magic Kingdom train station be getting a special look of its own?
You might have seen that Cinderella Castle has been getting a bit of a new look ahead of the 50th Anniversary and Disney announced that some Fantasyland attractions (like the carousel!) would be getting shimmering gold leaf additions. Main Street, U.S.A. has also seen some in-progress touch-ups!

Cinderella Castle
Well, we just spotted a new building permit that might point to a touch-up to the train station! Of course, the train station has been covered with a construction scrim for a while now, but we don’t have many details about the nature of the refurbishment. Could this be a hint?

Sorry Disney, that train station scrim isn’t fooling us!
The new permit is filed with Design Communications Ltd., a contractor that has done periodic design work for Disney World in the past. The work description is “Install sign” at the address coded to the train station!

This doesn’t give us a ton of new info, but it could mean that the train station is getting a snazzy new (or at least updated) sign ahead of the 50th anniversary! Regardless, we’re super curious to see what changes we can spot when the scrim comes down!

It does not matter because the Magic Kingdom trains are still not running and will not be running until after the “TRON Coaster” is running which may not be until well after 10/1.
I wish it would open up before my next trip in December. I have missed it my last couple of trips and this might be my last Disney trip for a few years. After having like 6 or 7 Princess cruises canceled I am hoping to get 2 or 3 in next year and a few the following year so Disney will have to wait a bit.
Is there any indication as to whether the scrim will come down for the 50th anniversary?
Jennifer, I would sure think so, but I don’t know that Disney has announced a timeline. We will check daily and update.
