For those of you traveling to Walt Disney World in August, we have some good news! With a steady increase in crowds and tons of new announcements, Disney has been extending the hours around the theme parks.
Now, we’ve spotted a few days in August that might require you to set your alarm a little earlier if you’re heading to EPCOT! For those of you trying to maximize your time in the theme parks, you might want to listen up!
Typically since reopening last year, EPCOT has officially opened at 11AM to welcome world travelers and adventure-seekers.
We noticed a change in the typical schedule, though, with EPCOT scheduled to operate from 10AM to 10PM a few days in August.
On Saturday, August 7th and August 14th, you can head to EPCOT an hour early!
If you’re planning to rope drop the park, you’ll want to be in EPCOT before the posted opening, so make sure to give yourself enough time to make your way to the park! Lately, rope drop procedures have started in EPCOT about 30 minutes before the official opening time. If that pattern holds, you can expect rope drop to start around 9:30AM on August 7th and 14th!
Although we’re super excited about getting an extra hour in EPCOT, we should probably warn you that weekends during the Food and Wine Festival tend to be more crowded than weekdays, so keep that in mind if you’re planning out your day in EPCOT!
These earlier mornings in EPCOT are giving us the longest park hours we’ve seen in a while, and we’re so excited to see these extensions! There’s a lot to consider when planning your day in EPCOT, so stay tuned to DFB for more planning tips, tricks, and advice!
