Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is one of Disney World’s EPCOT-area hotels, located a short distance away from both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.
Recently, we visited the Yacht Club to check out the newly reopened Yachtsman Steakhouse, and we saw some construction happening around the hotel as well. Last night, the Yacht Club Resort was brought to our attention again when a reader informed us that the hotel was being evacuated.
Around 9:30PM last night — September 5th — fire alarms went off throughout the Yacht Club Resort and guests were evacuated outside the resort.

Disney hasn’t confirmed the reasoning behind the evacuation, but evacuations like this aren’t out of the ordinary. Disney’s Polynesian Resort was recently evacuated as well. And at property this large, evaluations are bound to happen from time to time.
We’ll let you know if we learn more about the situation. Keep following DFB for more news about what’s going on in Disney World.

I was there last night about 30 minutes before this happened and I thought I smelled someone bbqing.
I was in Beaches and Cream at the time. A kid pulled the fire alarm.
Oh well… it happens
Was super annoying ! One thing is for sure though, those fire alarms will make it so you can’t hang out on your room. Wow those were effective.
Happened to us last December, about the same time!! Stood outside in the cold for about 45 minutes. No explanation afterwards. Kids and many adults in PJ’s and robes…people were grabbing pool towels to wrap themselves in to keep warm. One gentleman offered his coat to a very young lady, so sweet.
