One of our favorite views is the big balloon floating above Disney World’s shopping center, Disney Springs.

This balloon is the Aerophile, which is actually the world’s largest hand-painted helium-filled balloon. Guests can take a ride in the balloon to get gorgeous views of the area around them. Pretty soon, though, this ride is going to close for a short refurbishment.
The Aerophile is going to be closed on October 17th through the 27th. During that time, you won’t be able to float above the Springs, since Cast Members will be working on refurbishments for the balloon.

This attraction is normally open from 9AM to 11PM, and it will reopen during those times beginning October 28th.

In the meantime, you can check out other Disney Springs attractions, like the BOATHOUSE Amphicar Tours, which drive from land into the water near Disney Springs.

Or maybe you could head to the other side of the Springs to the Marketplace Carousel!

There’s always plenty to do in the Springs (including LOTS of dining and shopping), and the Aerophile will be running again soon.

I’ve said it before, Disney has missed an obvious opportunity for a movie tie-in with the balloon. The balloon should be themed to Up! They try to inject IP everywhere else, but seem to miss this perfect opportunity that everyone would love.
