Live entertainment has had a tumultuous few years.
For instance, the new Cirque du Soleil show in Disney Springs, Drawn to Life, had a significantly delayed opening due to the global health crisis. Last year, it finally did open but now, it seems there has been a sudden cancellation of a performance.
According to reader Lesley Duncan (Thanks, Lesley!), the 8:30PM showing of Drawn to Life was unexpectedly canceled last night, January 6th.
Duncan reports that they arrived at the theater to be told that the show had been canceled and their tickets were refunded. Cirque du Soleil team members did not share why the show had been canceled.
Lately, we’ve seen a lot of news about large-scale live performances being canceled due to COVID-19. According to Playbill, more than a dozen Broadway and off-Broadway shows have seen cancellations in the past month. The same could’ve affected Cirque du Soleil.
The Drawn to Life website shows both the 5:30PM and 8:30PM shows available for tonight and tomorrow. The 5:30PM show today is currently sold out.
We will continue to monitor the situation with Drawn to Life and will report any changes. Stay tuned to DFB for the latest updates about live entertainment in Disney World.
