The Figment popcorn bucket, love it or hate it, has become a viral hit!
On the first day of EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts, the bucket had a 6.5 hour long line (!!!). The next day, LOTS of EPCOT guests still rope dropped the Pop Eats booth! Not only is the bucket a hot resale item, but “bad artwork” of the bucket went completely viral online! It’s been a WILD few days to say the least, but today the story of the purple dragon takes a very delicious turn!
Cupcake Wars champ Jillian Hopke of Jillycakes Orlando brought a Figment Popcorn Bucket Cake into EPCOT today! This is a whole new layer to the Great Figment Saga of 2022 and we are OBSESSED. This cake certainly made us smile and we definitely needed it after a wild opening day at the Festival of the Arts!
According to Hopke, the process of making this adorable cake was healing and fun! Of course, the cake was cut in true EPCOT fashion, on top of a trash can (we’ve been there MANY times, the trash cans really come in clutch). Inside, the cake had a gorgeous rainbow pattern inspired by the vibrant shades of Journey into Imagination and the Festival of the Arts!
Take a look at how they brought it into EPCOT — kuddos for creating this heartwarming and super fun cake!
However, this isn’t the first piece of art inspired by the iconic popcorn bucket! Recently, we spotted a “bad artwork sketch” of the bucket on eBay (the proceeds go to charity!), adding some levity to the resale market for these buckets.
The Figment Popcorn Bucket has led to quite the saga! We’re keeping track of all the latest news about everyone’s favorite purple dragon, so stay tuned here for more updates!
