It feels like we’ve been waiting FOREVER for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind to open in EPCOT — but we’re finally getting closer!

Disney announced that the ride will be opening this summer (but they haven’t given an exact date, yet). We’ve been keeping an eye on construction, including the GIANT Nova Corps ship that’s gone up outside of the ride. Yesterday, we saw a closer look at the loading area of the ride, and today, we’ve got a new video from inside the attraction!
Walt Disney Imagineering just released this video on Instagram featuring Liz Diaz, a Senior Ride Development Engineer. The clip shows her talking about her job as an engineer on the Cosmic Rewind project. We also get a look at the Starjumpers inside the ride, which is the name of the ride vehicles — take a look at the ride system being tested below!
So cool! We also got a look at the omnicoaster vehicles spinning around, which is something super unique about this ride. The vehicles spin around to point you to what you’re supposed to be seeing while still acting as a roller coaster!

Is this a true fast coaster?
Interesting, but I am extremely concerned with the ride motion. I am not looking forward to riding until I find out more about how fast this moves and how dark the ride is.
Wow…That’s $20 ride if I ever saw one! Bring lots of money, many new rides coming.

It’s too bad EPCOT is turning into an “amusement” park. Appears that the new Disney has killed Walt’s dreams.
I Bet Chapek is thinking…If we could just get rid of those funny buildings around my lake, we could make it Marvel Land!
Funny that people keep saying this is unique movement as far as coasters go when Universal’s Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringott’s is already a literal spinning coaster. Granted, I know that ride is more of a hybrid of coaster and 3D simulator, but still, it spins around and points you at screens. People who are skeptical of this Guardians ride should know that Disney keeps advertising it as a “family coaster” although it seems to be a more -thrilling- version of Universal’s Gringott’s ride system… 🤔 Two women in my usual travel group don’t typically ride many coasters outside of ones like Big Thunder Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and they’re both also very skeptical of this Guardians coaster being for “families” haha. We’ll have to wait until opening to find out! The reported initial “backwards launch” up into the main ride building already seems to be too thrilling of an aspect for my friends, but other than that I fully expect the rest of the ride to be tolerable. Disney wouldn’t make a Guardians of the Galaxy attraction like this that would leave many people out!
