Some might say that breakfast is the most important part of the day but we might argue that it’s actually BRUNCH because what’s better than having two meals in one?
And, you don’t have to give up your Sunday brunch routine when you’re visiting Disney World! Several Disney Springs restaurants already offer up a special menu for the occasion, and now Terralina Crafted Italian has joined in on the fun. But, is it worth skipping brunch at, say, Wine Bar George? We stopped by to check it out and try the menu (for research, of course!).
Terralina Crafted Italian is located in The Landing at Disney Springs on the water (a gorgeous backdrop to pound some pancakes, right?). And, although the daytime menu is usually full of Italian favorites like Fried Rice Balls, Italian Alfredo, and Seafood Cannelloni, the restaurant just introduced a brand new brunch menu that guests can order from on Sundays from 11:30AM to 3PM.
Atmosphere
You’ll find that Terralina Crafted Italian is a pretty casual restaurant, although its design suggests Italy’s fancy-schmancy Lake District. Inside, there are lots of European details with several dining areas, including an outdoor seating area that overlooks the water. If you’d like to be seated outside, you can request this when you check-in for your reservation and Cast Members will help out if they can!
In addition to the main dining areas, there’s also both an indoor bar…
…AND an outdoor bar where you can enjoy a more casual dining experience (and LOTS of wine!).
No matter where you’re hoping to be seated, you’ll check in just inside the main entrance, where there are several couches and chairs to sit in while you wait for your table to be ready.
And, what’s it like when you sit at your table? Crisp white napkins, a water glass, and an appetizer plate.
Then it’s time to decide on what to eat!
Eats
When it comes to brunch, the menu is limited — and we mean LIMITED! You can view it by either asking for a paper menu or scanning a QR code to get it on your phone.
Currently, guests can choose from four different options — a Breakfast Pizza, Bread Pudding French Toast, an Omelet, and Poached Eggs. And, if you can’t imagine brunching without a boozy mid-morning cocktail in hand, you’ll have two items to choose from — a Bloody Mary and Mimosa Flight.
While you decide on what you’ll be noshing on, your server will bring out the Bread Service to get you started. Now, we love a good bread service, and this one is GOOD!
It features a loaf of Italian Bread along with some Olive Oil and they pair like two peas in a pod. The bread is crispy on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside. It also has a bit of a salty and peppery flavor that’s very mild but gives it a little something extra. YUM. And, of course, the bread pairs well with the olive oil — AS IT SHOULD.
Let’s get onto the drinks now, shall we? We’re all for a sampler, so we ordered up the Mimosa Flight. For $22 you get three Mimosas: Cranberry Orange, Strawberry Hibiscus, and Grapefruit Rosemary. We liked that these were more unique mimosa flavors compared to what we tend to see on other brunch menus in Disney World.
The Cranberry Orange Mimosa was delicious and even had a little bit of kick at the end from its citrusy flavor. It’s made with pulpy orange juice (so if you don’t like that, be warned!). Our only real complaint is that we wish it had a touch more of the cranberry! But, all in all, this is a good mimosa to get if you’re looking for something closer to a traditional breakfast cocktail. It’s also our favorite of the three!
The Strawberry Hibiscus Mimosa on the other hand was our LEAST favorite of the three. These are flavors we usually love, but we found that the cocktail had more of a floral taste to it and the strawberry seemed more like it was directly from a syrup bottle rather than real strawberries.
And, now for the last of the bunch — the Grapefruit Rosemary Mimosa. The main flavor that we picked up on in this drink was the rosemary and, while it was certainly tart from the grapefruit flavor, we were left wishing there was more.
So, the flight was a bit of a fail for us, but what about the food? We ordered up the Breakfast Pizza for $17, which has Sausage, Peppers, Mozzarella, and Scrambled Eggs. As self-appointed pizza critiques, we’ve come to find that the key to a good pizza is good cheese and we’re happy to report that this pizza has a LOT of it on there. We also liked that it was topped with a garlic olive oil that added a nice garlicky touch to each bite. But seriously, y’all — THE CHEESE ON THIS BABY.
You’ll find a lot of sausage on the pizza, too, which has a nice hint of peppery flavor. The red peppers add a nice crunch and the freshness of the peppers makes this taste a lot lighter than it looks. There aren’t a lot of eggs on it, though, so the egg flavor gets a bit lost.
Overall, this is one dish that is sure to be a people pleaser, even for the kids! It’s breakfast — but on a pizza! How can you go wrong with that?
Next up, we tried the Omelet for $18, which has Asparagus, Sun-Dried Tomato, Fresh Mozzarella, and Proscuitto and is served with a bowl of Fresh Fruit (ours had grapes, cantaloupe, and pineapple).
We found that the omelet was super fluffy and thought that the saltiness of the prosciutto really takes this one up a notch. Add in the fact that the asparagus added a good crunch (for all you texture eaters) and a HUGE portion of melted cheese and all we can say is *chefs kiss.*
Of course, we also had to order up the Bread Pudding French Toast too because who doesn’t love dessert for breakfast, amiright? It costs $16 and includes three slices of bread pudding french toast topped with Fresh Berries, Powdered Sugar, and Whipped Cream.
The bread pudding itself was nicely dense with a great cinnamon flavor to it and it paired nicely with the strawberries, blackberries, and raspberry sauce on top. We did taste a little something extra on top of the bread pudding that gave it a peachy flavor, but it still worked. The only thing we were really missing was something to pour over it, like maple syrup. But, overall, it’s was good enough that we would order it again.
Apparently, French toast makes AMAZING bread pudding — who knew?
If you’re not a fan of having dessert for breakfast, though, you may want to skip it. This is more of a dessert than it is a breakfast, but we were TOTALLY okay with that!
Nosh or Not
Head on over to Terralina Crafted Italian for Brunch if…
- You can’t get a brunch reservation anywhere else in Disney Springs. If reservations are anything like they are for lunch and dinner here, we don’t anticipate reservations for this brunch spot filling up nearly as fast as others.
- You want a solid, well-prepared (albeit small) brunch menu.
- You want to have your brunch without all the bells and whistles that you might find at a character breakfast in Disney World or at other spots in Disney Springs. The atmosphere here is much more relaxed.
Skip brunch at Terralina Crafted Italian if…
- You’re dining with a large group of people that have different taste palettes or you just want more options. The brunch menu here is pretty limited so you might want to go somewhere else if you want a larger menu. There are several other great brunch menus at Disney Springs, including those at Raglan Road and Homecomin’.
- You want to eat earlier than 11:30AM. Terralina Crafted Italian doesn’t open until what’s more like lunchtime, so if you’re hungry earlier than that you’ll have to go elsewhere.
- You want to see characters or have entertainment while you eat. There are no Disney characters here and you won’t find any other entertainment like you might see at places like Raglan Road.
Overall
If you’re looking to grab brunch and didn’t manage to get a reservation for one of the more popular brunch spots at Disney Springs, Terralina Crafted Italian is a good option to get some great brunch food that should even satisfy kids and pickier eaters. However, just remember that this is a small brunch menu and if you’re looking for more options to choose from, you won’t find it here.
We would say that overall, our meal was good, but not great. We wouldn’t go out of our way to have brunch here, especially with so many other options available nearby. That being said, the prices for brunch are relatively fair and the service was what we’ve come to expect from Disney restaurants (although it felt rushed at times).
Well, that’s it for brunch at Terralina Crafted Italian! We’ll be bringing you more restaurant reviews from Disney World soon, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest!
