Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be officially open in just a few short weeks!
This new attraction brings the Guardians of the Galaxy to EPCOT in Disney World, and it’s a one-of-a-kind experience! While we wait for the attraction to officially open, there’s one thing we’re happy to finally get a look at — merch!
We’ve seen the Nova Corps-inspired costumes for cast members, which will have them fitting right in as emissaries of Xandar! But we don’t want to launch into the galaxy without looking the part too! That’s why we’re excited to see Disney’s new merchandise, inspired by the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind!
Disney recently shared a video showcasing the new items fans will be able to pick up!
…a water bottle…
And just check out those squishy toys!!
We can’t wait to see them in person. These items and more will likely be available at the new gift shop that will be located next to the ride — Treasures of Xandar.
According to Imagineer Zach Riddley the story here is that this gift shop is operated by “The Broker,” who is a “proud Xandarian, who’s been awarded the contract and brought part of his famous store here to EPCOT.”
UPDATE: Thanks to a special Disney media event we were able to attend, we also now have an exclusive FIRST LOOK INSIDE the Treasures of Xandar gift shop! Looks like there will be some screens with special displays, more theming, jackets, and a whole bunch of other items.
There’s even an adorable Baby Groot statue!
Here’s another look at some of the merchandise items you’ll be able to pick up, including mugs…
…shirts and other accessories…
…and some great plushes!
According to Disney, these are some of the product lines that will be available in the store:
- Heroes of Xandar Collection — What if the Guardians were rock stars? This collection will be “[i]nspired by vintage concert merchandise of the 1980s,” and will imagine “all of the gear and memorabilia fans would collect during the Guardians’ fictional intergalactic tour.”
- The Guardians of the Galaxy: Through the Eyes of Quill Collection — This collection will be a “bold and colorful line celebrating Peter Quill’s childhood visit to EPCOT.” It will really have a vintage feel with “retro silhouettes and graphic designs evoking decades past.”
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – Honorary Guardians Collection — This collection will help guests of all ages show off their new hero status after riding the ride and, you know, saving the galaxy! According to Disney, “Honorary Guardians will be distinguished in their rank through the official Honorary Guardian colors of navy and gold paired with the Honorary Guardian emblem, which is proudly displayed on each item in the collection.”
- Groot Through the Years Collection — This collection “celebrates the sentient tree-like creature and his journey to becoming a defender of the galaxy.” The collection will have “toys, home décor and children’s apparel” that will show “Groot’s evolution from baby to adolescent to adult.”
