Are you ready to enter the Grid? We know we are!
TRON Lightcycle / Run is set to open on April 4th, 2023 and we seriously can’t WAIT! Disney has given us so many new details lately — including shiny new signage that indicates the ride is ALMOST complete! Now, they’re giving us more information about what we expect when we finally get to experience the world of TRON for ourselves.
Disney shared this video showing NEW complimentary lockers that would be available for guests to store their belongings before getting on the ride.
Guests can unlock their locker with their MagicBand or ticket for easier access. There will be a small compartment on the ride vehicle that can store items like phones, glasses, and wallets, but anything larger than that must be stored in the lockers.
Disney also shared that there would be NO standby line for this attraction and instead, they will be using their virtual queue system. Individual Lightning Lanes will also be available to guests hoping to enter the Grid.
We also know that there WILL be a PhotoPass opportunity on this ride that will automatically link to your My Disney Experience app through your MagicBand or smartphone.
All these new and exciting details have us even more excited for TRON to open! Here at DFB, we keep a sharp eye out for Disney news and updates, so make sure you follow along for more. Boo to lockers. I hate the lockers at Universal Studios, and I’m sure I’ll hate the lockers at WDW.
I second the hatred of the lockers at Universal. I do not like every hot and sweaty person trying to shove in to use them before the ride. I do not like having to remember to get my phone back out to take a picture of the locker so I can remember which one is mine. I do not like everyone after the ride now pushing back in to get their stuff out of a locker than now won’t open. I feel sorry for all the team members it takes to help all the frustrated people trying to get a locker open before the credit card gets hit for excessive time. But I MOSTLY dislike the fact that Universal made the lockers smaller than a backpack and horizontal so you couldn’t stand up a Starbucks tall let alone an actual bottle of water which no matter what leaks as it lies there. (Love those bubble wands.) Please let me shove in my mouse ears and backpack after the other person’s souvenir cup leaked out…
HEY DISNEY! Keep what makes you unique. Lockers are something absolutely EVERY park offers – including you! Taking your stuff with you on a ride – uniquely Disney.
