Lately, Disney has been wowing us with some futuristic developments.
We’ve seen a GIANT Hulk meeting guests in Disney parks, talked to a real-life Tinkerbell in a tiny lantern, and have even seen a life-like robotic rabbit rollerblading on stage at SXSW. But soon, a new product will allow Disney fans to bring some of that futuristic magic into their own homes.
That’s right, Disney and Apple are partnering to create interactive experiences with a new mixed-reality headset. According to CNN, the Apple Vision Pro will blend virtual reality and augmented reality (“a technology that allows users to overlay virtual images on live video of the real world”). The news was shared during a keynote presentation at Apple’s WWDC, a technology conference held every year.
With this new device, the user will be “able to see apps directly projected in front of them. The interface is designed to look ‘truly present’ in your room, responding to light and casting shadows to help users understand scale and distance.” The headset is even programmed to respond to hand and eye movement, so it can feel as though “your mind is guiding the experience.”
So, how is Disney participating in this rollout? Well, Apple shared that they are working to develop Disney, National Geographic, Marvel, and ESPN experiences for the headset. From day one of its release, Disney+ will be available with the device, according to Iger. The Apple Hub shared on Twitter some teaser images of what we can expect with Disney+ when it comes out.

Did anyone else notice the electrical parade at Disney World in the video ?! Are they bringing it back?
FL-Dad says
Hmmmmm pay $3500 (plus tax) so I can watch TV/movies, that I do already for free, without a bulky headset on.
I don’t care to have characters dancing around my home. If I want to look something up, I just do so on my computer or phone.
This is another example of technology that no one really needs. If you’re a pilot that needs instant information overlaid on your primary view, OK got it. But for everyone else? Maybe not. Hard pass for me.

Does this blurb of Spectromagic mean WDW is getting a nighttime parade again? Or ps it only in our googles ;/
Ken says
Apple is too high tech for Disney guests and parks. Keep it simple and fun. Too many guests walking around with iPhones in their hands instead of looking around and seeing what Disney has to offer.

It would make my whole day if they did! I miss the Main Street Electrical Parade SO MUCH!
