Disney Springs is changing all the time, so we’re here to help you keep up with all the updates. And there have been LOTS of updates in 2023!

Disney Springs
If you’re looking for great shopping and dining in Disney World, Disney Springs is the place to be. There are dozens of fantastic restaurants along with stores that feature both Disney and non-Disney souvenirs and apparel. 2023 might only be half over, but we’ve already seen FIVE restaurants close, some temporarily and others permanently. Let’s take a look at all of these changes.
Stores that Permanently Closed
Sosa Family Cigars Shop
The Sosa Family Cigars Shop located on the West Side of Disney Springs closed permanently on January 3rd of this year.

Sosa Family Cigars
The company has been in the industry for over 70 years, and previously this store featured over 80 cigar brands, including some rare ones.
UGG
Another permanent closure is the UGG store, which closed in March.

The doors were shut and had signs that said, “Please pardon our appearance. Something new is coming.”

Now, we know that Lululemon will be moving into this space.

Incoming Lululemon Store
Lululemon already has a store location in Disney Springs (across from the Lime Garage), but they’re expanding into the larger area that UGG previously occupied.
Melissa Clube
Near the center of Disney Springs, the Melissa Clube shoe store officially closed in May.

The Melissa Clube has closed
This shop sold jelly shoes and other accessories made from recyclable materials. Luckily, for all our jelly shoe fans out there, you can still shop for shoes on the Melissa website.
In June, Alex and Ani moved into this space.
Stores that Closed for Refurbishments and Changes
Not all of the store closures were permanent, though! There were a couple of temporary closures this year as well.
Tren-D
The popular Tren-D apparel store closed on June 29th but reopened soon after with a brand-new look.

Now, the store seems a little more streamlined, and the color palette consists of soft, light pastels. There’s a TOTAL Disney princess vibe happening, too.

SO different
There are some new Disney details to spot, like this silhouette of the Aristocats.

We also noticed that the dressing rooms are now gone, and the register station is completely different.

Making fairytales fashionable
We love that “Making Fairy Tales Fashionable” sign!
Alex and Ani
Alex and Ani closed their original Disney Springs location and relocated to the space that used to house Melissa Clube.

New location
Their new storefront has already opened, right behind Anthropologie and across from Zara (not far from their old location).

Counter
According to the store’s Instagram announcement, the new store “offers a more personalized experience” for visitors.

Merechandise
That’s already a lot of changes for one year, but we’re expecting even more changes to come to Disney Springs in 2023! For example, the new Summer House on the Lake restaurant is supposed to open in “late 2023.”

Summer House on the Lake Construction
The new restaurant “embodies a breezy, beach house vibe that will pair perfectly with the sweeping views of Lake Buena Vista.”

And tucked inside Summer House on the Lakeyou’ll find The Cookie Jar!
The Cookie Jar is “a dessert-focused market” that serves freshly baked cookies and house-made pastries. Yep, you read that correctly — there will be an entire cookie market at Summer House on the Lake!
