Do you head straight for Gideon’s Bakehouse when you visit Disney Springs…because, well, we do!
However, over the past few days, we haven’t been able to get our hands on our favorite cookies because Gideon’s Bakehouse has been temporarily closed — and that closure was recently extended. However, we’ve got some great news: Gideon’s Bakehouse has reopened!
Gideon’s Bakehouse closed on August 31st due to an ongoing issue with the building’s air conditioning. The dessert spot remained closed through September 1st and 2nd, as it worked on getting those issues resolved. As of this morning, though, on September 3rd, Gideon’s Bakehouse is open again, as reported on the bakery’s Instagram account.
So, if you’re wanting to try out those September limited-time flavors that Gideon’s JUST announced, now is the time to head to Disney Springs and grab them. We figure there will probably be a line (because there is almost ALWAYS a line there — but trust it, these cookies are worth it), so you might have to sign up for a virtual queue by providing your phone number so you can be texted when they’re ready for you.
We’ll keep an eye out for more closings and reopenings in Disney World and keep you updated on ALL Disney news, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
WE KNOW – there are SO many great snacks at Disney World! How do you choose (we don’t want to choose but will blow our budget on Day 1 otherwise)? We’ve got you covered!
