We’ve been analyzing little pieces of news and searching for clues on the Disney Treasure like a true explorer. The NEW Disney Treasure ship is set to feature ALL kinds of classic Disney entertainment, dining, and more. Of course, one of the things we’re MOST excited about is the new restaurant Disney just announced: Plaza de Coco! So, what can we expect from this new dining experience? Let’s find out!
Planning a Disney Cruise? We’re here to help! From packing tips to insider secrets, we know ALL the secrets to help you have a successful vacation. Now, on to the NEWS!
Here’s a preview of the new restaurant coming to the Disney Treasure — Plaza de Coco. See the person in the red hoodie? Look familiar? It’s MIGUEL from Coco! He’s even got the famous guitar from the movie. That’s right, there will be CHARACTERS at Plaza de Coco!

According to Disney, the new restaurant will feature live musical performances by a Mariachi band, who will perform songs from the movie. In fact, Plaza de Coco will be the FIRST theatrical dining experience themed to Coco. (It’s about time, Disney!)

The venue is described as a theater-in-the-round entertainment space with dining tables surrounding a central stage, with performances and show effects that will spread throughout the room.

How exciting!
While onboard the Treasure, passengers can take in two DIFFERENT nights of unique dining experiences at Plaza de Coco. For example, on the first night, “the story of Miguel and his familia will continue where it left off on screen as they gather in Mariachi Plaza to take guests on a colorful, music-filled journey that celebrates family memories and togetherness.”

Then, on the second night, Disney hinted that “Miguel will reunite with his great-great grandparents, Hector and Mama Imelda, by transporting them to Santa Cecilia with the help of his magic guitar for a Día de los Muertos celebration.”
We’re still waiting for Disney to give us a peek at the menu, but we know that both nights will feature a dinner menu with “modern twists on traditional Mexican fare” plus a lineup of live character entertainment. During our media preview, we also got an exclusive peek at some of the Plaza de Coco Cast Member costumes. We love all the bright colors and lively patterns!

Here’s a look at the costumes!
We’ll be on the hunt for more information on this unique new dining experience. What kind of Mexican dishes will be on the menu? We can’t wait to see! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
