In recent years, we’ve become accustomed to rapid outbreaks of COVID-19. The world has seen shutdowns, worn masks, and 6-foot proximity limits. Luckily, most of these restrictions have been lifted around the globe and people are traveling and living life again.
As people roam around visiting other countries, it is possible that they might be carrying other passengers and not even be aware of it. But Paris is now blatantly aware that they have new inhabitants in their city. But these guys are a cause for concern and not welcome there. Find out what has made Paris their new home below.
Over this past summer, Paris had been alerted that some hotels and vacation apartments had begun to have some unwelcome guests. Yep, that’s right, they were finding bedbugs. Now, only 10 months before the Summer Olympics, the bed bugs have infested FAR more than just the hotels and vacation rentals.
First, they were in the hotels, then they started being noticed in movie theaters, and now Parisians are finding bed bugs in the public high-speed trains and buses! Passengers notice the bugs only once it’s too late and can’t exit the train until the next stop. They have to closely check their seats before sitting down and keep their fabric bags on the floor away from the seats.
Unlike hitch-hiking ghosts, these little guys can absolutely go home with the train passengers. Teams of bug terminators are being called out all around Paris, costing individuals upwards of $500 to eradicate their homes of these tiny visitors.
Unfortunately, they are now even making their way to Morocco via the trains! However, Morocco has set precautions in place to hopefully prevent further infestation.
The 2024 Summer Olympics are set to take place in Paris in only a few months. Hopefully, they can be rid of this problem before millions of people from around the world travel there to watch the athletes compete. Currently, we have not heard if this issue is affecting Disneyland Paris.
