Price increases on Netflix subscriptions might impact you!

Streaming services tend to follow this trend of gradual price increases — Disney+ and Hulu raised their subscription prices not too long ago. The recently announced Netflix price increases take effect immediately.
According to Deadline, Netflix announced that it’s raising prices on certain plans in the U.S., U.K., and France.

The Premium subscription in the U.S. cost $19.99 before, but it will now cost $22.99. The Basic plan (which is no longer available to new members) cost $9.99 before but will now cost $11.99.
Netflix with ads, which costs $6.99, and the Standard plan, which costs $15.49, are staying the same and will not see price increases at this time.
These price increases began on October 18th.

Netflix announced this change during its third-quarter earnings report. The company stated, “While we mostly paused price increases as we rolled out paid sharing, our overall approach remains the same — a range of prices and plans to meet a wide range of needs, and as we deliver more value to our members, we occasionally ask them to pay a bit more.”
Netflix also said, “Our starting price is extremely competitive with other streamers and at $6.99 per month in the US, for example, it’s much less than the average price of a single movie ticket.”

Don’t forget that Netflix also recently cracked down on password sharing. The company added 8.8 million subscribers in its third quarter this year, according to USA Today.
