We’re just going to say it. We have a love/hate relationship with Pixar.
We love the movies and animation style SO MUCH. But… why do the storylines have to rip our hearts to shreds EVERY. SINGLE. TIME?! We happily watch them all, anyway, though. We’ve been looking forward to Pixar’s VERY FIRST streaming series, Win or Lose, that was supposed to debut on Disney+ in December 2023. Well, if you were also looking forward to the series, we have bad news.
Win or Lose has been postponed! Yes, sadly, the new series won’t arrive to Disney+ until 2024.
According to The Wrap, the series had previously been set to premiere in December, but when the December listings for Disney+ came out, the series was missing from the list. Noooo! Originally announced in 2020, the series has been delayed several times, it seems.
In case the all-new series is news to you, it follows along the stories of each of the players who make up a co-ed middle school softball team called the Pickles. Each episode focuses on a different character and their family as the team prepares for the big championship game. (Yeahhhh. Sports. Family life. Middle school angst. It’ll probably make us cry.)
The Wrap said, “Earlier this year at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Pixar showed off an entire episode from “Win or Lose” (“Vanessa: The Cool Mom”) and it blew away the assembled crowd. It’s classic Pixar storytelling, full of heart and wonderful characters, but the stylization of the world and the quickness that the narrative unfolds is brand new.”
EEEP. All we have to say is that it better come in EARLY 2024, because we’re way too excited about this series. We’ll keep you updated with news regarding Win or Lose when we have it, so make sure to follow along for more so that you never miss a thing and are always win the loop.
