Y’all, we are SO excited to welcome the Disney Treasure to the Disney Cruise Line Fleet.
The ship is set to take to the seas on her Maiden Voyage on December 21st, 2024. Aboard the Treasure, you’ll find never-before-seen entertainment options, Disney’s first-ever Marvel dining experience, and more. One thing we’re extra excited about, though, is the addition of the first-ever Haunted Mansion LOUNGE aboard the Treasure. Disney announced that the Haunted Mansion Parlor will materialize when the Treasure sets sail in December.
Disney provided us with all sorts of information pertaining to the lounge, but y’all don’t realize how exciting some of these things are! We noticed a few little details that we think are going to make the Haunted Mansion Parlor a GREAT immersive experience. Let’s talk about it!
A NEW Character
Disney said that the design of the Haunted Mansion Parlor will resemble a first-class drawing room of a classic cruise liner from the golden age, invoking inspiration from the original Haunted Mansion with a nautical twist.
The nautical twist includes a new character: The Captain. Disney tells us that the Parlor takes us along the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion, which is focused on the story of a “jovial captain who entered the ghostly realm after a disastrous dinner with his beloved fiancee.”
Well, we sure can’t wait to meet him.
A NEW Soundtrack
When Disney shared one of the cool souvenirs that you’ll be able to snag from the Parlor, there was a hidden detail.
The Haunted Mansion Parlor Music Box will be a keepsake inspired by the eerie music box that will play a melodic soundtrack inside the Haunted Mansion Parlor. A SPECIAL SOUNDTRACK! As the rumors go, this mysterious box belonged to the captain’s bride-to-be and only opens in the presence of malevolent spirits.
The soundtrack is inspired by the iconic Haunted Mansion music, and is composed by Shruti Kumar. We can’t wait to hear it for ourselves!
Star Characters From the Mansion
Don’t worry, though. Disney isn’t completely re-writing this tale. There will be plenty of familiar faces, as Disney tells us that we can expect to see some familiar purple wallpaper and some familiar faces from the original attraction.
We’re currently wondering if The Captain’s mentioned fiancee is Constance, but we also think that we could see familiar friends like the Hitchhiking Ghosts, Madame Leota, and the Ghost Host. We can’t wait to find out!
