It’s the week of your Disney trip. You’re excited, you’re living your best life, and you are proudly following that “treat yourself mentality”. But once the trip is over, you’re left realizing that some items you “absolutely had to get” you “absolutely now regret”. Whoops.

Isn’t this neatly-stacked wall of plushes SO satisfying?!
Listen, we’ve all been there. But the best part of making mistakes is that we get to learn from them! So instead of wishing we had a time machine to stop us from making those regrettable purchases, we’re going to embrace them just for you.
In the hopes of sharing the wisdom that we know now, we have created this list of items that many of us on the DFB team have regretted purchasing. This means that there’s a silver lining to all our disastrous buys. I mean, cup half full right?
We Regret Buying Plushies
As an avid plush collector, this one hurts, but it is unfortunately true. Many of us are big fans of fluffy plushies and Disney always makes the cutest selections of them, but there’s literally no need to keep buying them…

Stitch and Angel Shake Plushes
…especially when you’re like me and you’ve definitely run out of space to place them (help they’ve taken over every inch of my bed and closet — why did I do this to myself?!!).
We Regret Buying Alcohol
This one might be pretty controversial, especially with drinking around the world being so popular, but spending all your Disney bucks on Disney alcohol might be a regret you feel in the moment, instead of just when you get back home.

Guava Limeade
It’s a fun thought, but when you’ve walked the parks all day and realize you’re carrying a $17 cocktail that feels too heavy to finish anymore, regret will definitely set in. Maybe we don’t regret buying one or two drinks, but we heavily would reconsider buying 11 pavilions’ worth.
We Regret Purchasing Park Hopper Tickets
Now, this is only a regret if you haven’t done the Disney World theme parks before or if you don’t want to rush around during your day more than you already have to.

Slinky Dog Dash
There’s so much to do at each of the Disney Parks, so much so that it’s almost considered IMPOSSIBLE to do it all. And if you’re adding another park to the mix, that means there’s even more stuff to do with less time to do it.

Expedition Everest
So, if you put it into perspective, you’re paying MORE money to do LESS at each park. But, as we mentioned, Park Hopper is only a regret depending on what you want to get the most of out of your Disney trip. We recommend you make a list of your top priorities and do as much research as you can to see if Park Hopper is more of a benefit than a regret.

We Regret Buying Ponchos
It’s not the ponchos itself that we regret. It’s the ponchos that were forced to buy once it’s ALREADY raining.

Those Disney ponchos are cute but they cost a fortune!
Ask any avid park goer and they’ll probably tell you that Disney ponchos cost more than they’re worth. You’re better off purchasing one for less on Amazon or even your local pharmacy. This is unfortunately a regret I have personally experienced, and I’ve even spent an entire day mentally kicking myself for not being more prepared. Make sure to check the weather ahead of time before your trip, especially if you’re planning to visit the parks during the upcoming summer months.
And there you have it! Our list of our top 4 purchases we regretted making at the parks. Stay tuned with us as we give you all our greatest theme park tips and give you the 411 on the latest in Dinsey news!
