Hurricane Milton is on its way to Florida.
The hurricane is currently a category 5 hurricane but is expected to make landfall as category 3 on Wednesday, October 9th. Its path is likely to cross over the Orlando and Disney World areas, and they are currently in a hurricane warning. Due to that, Disney World has officially announced a few closures at the resort.

Disney World has been closely monitoring Hurricane Milton and has ensured that the safety of guests and Cast Members remains their top priority. The parks and resort are currently operating under normal conditions and will continue to do so on Tuesday, October 8th.
However, a couple of closures have been announced. The following hotels will be closed beginning at 11AM on Wednesday, October 9th.
- Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
- Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort
Disney anticipates reopening the Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and the Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs on Sunday, October 13th. The Copper Creek Cabins at Wilderness Lodge will likely reopen on Friday, October 11th.
Those currently staying at these locations can contact Guest Services or talk to Cast Members at your resort with any questions. As of now, these are the only closure announcements for Disney World. We’ll be watching for more as the storm gets closer.
Over the past couple of days, Disney World has restricted new hotel reservations for October 8th through the 10th, as well as halted new park pass reservations from being made for those who need them. Disney World’s hotel reservation changes and cancelation policy has also been updated for dates through October 12th. If you plan to stay at Disney World through this week, be on the lookout for new announcements and watch for local weather forecasts. Cast Members are also available to assist you if needed.

Staying at Fort Wilderness. Since Saturday we have been asking the front desk cast members what happens during a hurricane in Disney for us at the campground. We have a trailer and a dog with us. We were told that if they close fort wilderness we will be moved to an available room. However tonight they came around the campground with letters saying we have to call and make our own reservations. The phone number they provided was the regular Disney reservations line, which meant it was packed!! Front desk cast members refused to help with accommodations, and also denied telling us that this would be arranged for us. We are highly disappointed with how this evacuation was handled!!

I am flying from South Africa to be in Disney World 20 to 25 October should I cancel my trip???
Marcos Valença says
G.M. Reidmaier: Of course not. There will be no hurricane by then.

SOUTH AFRICA: WALT DISNEY WORLD SHOULD BE OK BY THE TIME YOU ARRIVE. IT’S AMAZING HOW DISNEY WORKS ALL NIGHT TO PUT THINGS BACK IN ORDER.
You will have to watch if another storm develops. Sorry.

Sounds typical Disney. In June I had a 9 night reservation. On the last day my wife and I decided we would like to stay an extra day. I went on the Disney website to see if a room at the resort we were staying at had an available room. It did so I went to the front desk to make the reservation. The price they quoted me was 90+ dollars more than the advertised price on their website. The person at the desk and her supervisor both told me they do not honor the website price saying the hotel has its own
price schedule. I did NOT make the reservation.

G.M. Riedmaier,
This hurricane will be over by then.
