Hurricane season is upon us at Disney World!

Rainy day at Magic Kingdom
This summer hasn’t brought us any overly crazy weather so far at Disney World, but it looks like a hurricane has officially formed in the Atlantic. Let’s take a look at what’s coming so we can be prepared!
The National Hurricane Center has been monitoring multiple storms over the last few weeks, with Tropical Storm Erin being one of them, and things seem to be getting worse with this storm.

According to the National Hurricane Center, what was Tropical Storm Erin has now officially become Hurricane Erin. An advisory was issued for countries along the western Atlantic by the NHC because of the hurricane.

Erin is projected to form into a Category 4 Hurricane. As of right now, Erin is located several hundred miles east of the northern Leeward Islands. We can expect heavy rainfall, so places such as the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Leeward Islands, and Puerto Rico should be aware of possible flash flooding.

Storms can hit Disney World often
We’re still in the very early stages, so the National Hurricane Center is still unsure of what this storm could do to places like the Bahamas, Bermuda, and the east coast of the United States. We’ll have to keep an eye out as news progresses over time.
