Menus
Connections Eatery
This year, Connections Eatery is cooking up some new eats and a new drink for the Festival of the Arts.
The menu features two slices of BBQ Chicken Pizza topped with smoked chicken, sweet barbecue sauce, cheese blend, peppers, and red onions; and a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich made with spicy hand-breaded chicken, roasted garlic aïoli, and southern slaw on a toasted brioche bun.
You can also sip on the new Classic Mojito with mint foam.
Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe
Over in Norway, you’ll find the NEW Hazelnut Praline Boller, which is a Cardamom bun with hazelnut cream at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe.
Sunshine Seasons
And, over at Sunshine Seasons, you’ll find the all-new The Architecture of Drip, which is blueberry-flavored gelato topped with scoops of banana and berry whipped cream, a waffle cone, and sprinkles.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
Connections Eatery
First up, we grabbed the BBQ Chicken Pizza for $12.29, topped with smoked chicken, sweet barbecue sauce, cheese blend, peppers, and red onions. This is a very sweet and soothing meal that’s comforting and nostalgic. Between the onions and the sweet barbecue sauce, you’re getting a lot of flavors regularly associated with BBQ pizza. This one is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
We also checked out the spice level of the all-new Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich for $13.19, made with spicy hand-breaded chicken, roasted garlic aïoli, and southern slaw on a toasted brioche bun! This sandwich also knocked it out of the park. The breading is good with a nice crunch, and the sauce didn’t make it soggy.
It does have some heat beyond the usual Disney spicy, but the slaw helps cool things down. Plus, it comes with those Disney fries we love.
Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe
Norway is a new entry for this year’s Festival, and we were excited to check out the new Hazelnut Praline Boller for $5.49. It’s a Cardamom bun with hazelnut cream. So this bun tasted fresh, but we really didn’t get much of the cardamom flavor, so it’s a standard hazelnut cream bun, and that hazelnut flavor comes through nicely, but it’s not a lot.
This snack just isn’t that unique, though. The flavors are good, but we expect more from a Festival of the Arts treat.
Sunshine Seasons
An ice cream treat with an interesting name — The Architecture of Drip for $10.99. This is blueberry-flavored gelato topped with scoops of banana and berry whipped cream, a waffle cone, and sprinkles. This is more shake than gelato, because you drink it — it even comes with a straw, so we already have a problem with the description. This treat is VERY blueberry-heavy, although you do get that banana taste, which is more subtle. The cone is a standard waffle cone. Warning: it can get soggy.
This one might be a fun one for kids, as long as they like fruit flavors. However, we’re still a little mad that Disney lied to us and called this something other than a shake.
Drinks
There’s just one new drink at these bonus spots, and that’s the Classic Mojito with mint foam for $16.50 over at Connections Eatery! It’s a classic mojito, but we were a little nervous with the extra mint foam on top of what’s essentially already a minty drink.
But it worked. The drink was light and refreshing.
