If you’re on vacation in Disney World right now, you’re not the only one!
It’s Spring Break season, baby! The week leading up to Easter and the week following Easter are some of the most crowded days of Spring Break season, and the people have definitely shown up in Magic Kingdom in full force. Let’s take a look!
We took a lap around Magic Kingdom on the morning of Tuesday, March 31st to see what the crowds were like, and boy were they a little overwhelming. Here’s a shot of Frontierland with everyone heading to their next to-do list item!
Tomorrowland wasn’t much better! There are several popular rides in this land, and visitors were hustling all over to get to them. You’ll probably be doing a good bit of bobbing and weaving if you’re in the parks today.
Speaking of popular rides, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin soft opened early after its lengthy refurbishment. We spotted the ride open over the weekend, but it looks like the soft opening is continuing today! Keep in mind that during a soft opening, the ride is not guaranteed to operate as normal.
When we stopped by, the wait time was 45 minutes. That’s honestly not too bad, especially for the crowd levels today! The ride will officially reopen on April 8th.
Even in the middle of the morning, Main Street, U.S.A. was pretty packed! This was past the rope drop rush, around the ideal arrival time for those who slept in during their vacation.
We went up on the Main Street, U.S.A. Train Station to get a POV from that direction, and things are just as busy from this angle! Work continues on the repainting of Cinderella Castle this morning, so you may want to wait until later in the day to grab a castle photo — nobody wants the equipment in the background.
We’ll keep you in the loop with more crowd updates as we visit other parts of Disney World.

Luckily my daughter had independent studies, so we were able to go after all the Spring Break crowds when it slowed down and had far less crowds.
The crowds & wait times are definitely getting worse & that is for all four parks. Early entry for hotel guests is hardly any benefit, with huge numbers in the park by opening time. This was always going to happen with Disney opening more & more hotels on site.
Also the lightening lane passes for pretty much average rides is just creating long lines at Standby entrances that didn’t exist with the old system.
The thing I don’t see written about as much is the after Spring Break crowd that consists of cheerleaders, sports teams, student government groups, etc.
We visited one year in late April , a few weeks after spring break. The crowds I mentioned were, in general, rowdy, loud, entitled and rude. We were totally taken by surprise . We will never again visit in “spring”.
