WELCOME to Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom! “Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.”
Walt Disney World’s original park, Magic Kingdom, which opened to guests on October 1, 1971, is celebrating its 50th Anniversary!
Home to the iconic Cinderella Castle and six whimsically themed lands, Magic Kingdom is what comes to mind for many guests when they think of Walt Disney World.
Main Street, U.S.A. sets the turn-of-the-century scene inspired by Walt Disney’s childhood home of Marceline, Missouri.
From here, guests head towards the Hub where the Partners statue — a tribute to Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse — stands in front of the stunning Cinderella Castle.
As Disney World’s original park, Magic Kingdom is home to many classic attractions that are truly quintessential to the Walt Disney World experience, from “it’s a small world” and Peter Pan’s Flight to the Haunted Mansion and the Jungle Cruise.

The Main Street Philharmonic is Magic Kingdom’s 12-piece brass band and percussion ensemble.
You’ll encounter them playing — and marching — on Main Street, U.S.A. and Storybook Circus throughout the day! And the Main Street Philharmonic performs the Star Spangled Banner during the daily Flag Retreat. Guests are now able to go up to the characters and give them hugs, and characters are able to sign autographs! (It is largely be a return to “normal” in terms of what many guests were used to prior to the pandemic.)

A NEW service made its debut within the My Disney Experience app for Disney World on October 19, 2021. Disney Genie provides on-the-go planning tools and customized itineraries to help guests maximize their park time in the parks!
The standard Disney Genie — which includes features like dining tips, recommendations for when to head to your next attractions, and enhancements to the Disability Access Service — is a complimentary service.
There are also optional add-ons available for a fee. TWO different options are available, and they allow guests to bypass the standby lines for attractions and instead enter the Lightning Lane. The Disney Genie+ base-price option — for $15 per person, per day — allows guests to select the next available time to arrive at an attraction and enter that attraction’s Lightning Lane at over 45 attractions across the four Disney World theme parks.
And another paid option is available for DIFFERENT — and more in-demand — attractions. Disney’s Individual Lightning Lane Attraction Selection service (pay-per-ride) is how guests pay a fee to utilize the Lightning Lane for an individual attraction.
There is a LOT to learn about this service, and you can find ALL the info you need HERE.
