Welcome to Tomorrowland! Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is fast food from the future. Dine on an array of quick-service items, and don’t forget to catch Sonny Eclipse’s next set!
Cosmic Ray’s has a great variety of counter service classics on the menu (burgers, salads, chicken strips) and includes items for those eating vegetarian as well.
While the atmosphere is a bit blah (save for the audio-animatronic alien lounge crooner, Sonny Eclipse), there’s plenty of seating, and the food isn’t bad.

Nosh or Not
Blast off to Cosmic Ray’s if…
- You’re traveling with a big group: This is one of the biggest quick-service restaurants in Magic Kingdom. There are TONS of tables and chairs. The menu has a pretty good mix of items, so even with a large group of people, there should be something for everyone.
- You’re in a hurry: We’ve got to hand it to the Cast Members at Cosmic Rays – they are a well-oiled machine. Your food usually arrives pretty quickly, so if you’ve got a Lightning Lane to catch after your meal, you won’t have to worry about waiting around for the check. Sometimes, we simply don’t have the time or energy for a full gourmet meal. This is where to go when you’re in a pinch and can’t make another decision for the group.
- You like sampling seasonal menu items: No matter the season, there’s a good chance that Cosmic Ray’s is serving a special menu item. This place is known for cooking up all kinds of fun little snacks and treats, so pop in here if you want to celebrate. You never know what kind of new and exciting menu item may show up!
Steer clear of Cosmic Ray’s if…
- You get overstimulated easily: As one of the largest restaurants in Magic Kingdom, it’s no surprise that there’s a lot going on here. There are tons of other people. There are multiple ordering stations. There’s a big animatronic jazz musician (don’t ask…). There are crying children. It can be a lot if you’re already feeling hangry and tired. Go to someplace like Columbia Harbour House if you want a quieter dining experience.
- You want the best quick-service meal in Magic Kingdom: We’ll say it: the food here is not stellar. There are probably other restaurants we’d recommend over Cosmic Ray’s. That said, this place has familiar menu items and is pretty centrally located, so it’s a good spot to hit up if you need food, like, immediately.
- Sonny Eclipse gives you the creeps: This one speaks for itself. Sonny Eclipse is like that weird uncle who just kinda shows up. He’s quirky. He’s retro. Ya either love him or you hate him. (We love him, BTW.)
Important Info:
- Audio-animatronic Sonny Eclipse plays a few sets each day on his galactic piano! You can find him in the main dining room.
- In the past, Cosmic Rays was well known for its fixin’s bar; currently, guests may customize items using Mobile Order.
- Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe accepts Mobile Order.
