Here at Disney Food Blog, we love Disney. But sometimes, we love to check out other theme parks too, especially ones with fun and unique theming. At Holiday World, every land is holiday-themed, and it’s located in the fittingly named Santa Claus, Indiana.
Holiday World features thrill rides, shows, and more for the whole family to enjoy, with rides like the Scarecrow Scrambler for Halloween and Good Gravy straight from your Thanksgiving table. The rides are so well-themed that it recently made USA Today’s best theme parks list for 2026. But Holiday World is getting even better, because it just announced it’s adding another brand-new roller coaster to its lineup!
CANNONBALL! is about to make a splash in Holiday World. This brand-new ride combines the drops of a roller coaster with the splash of a water ride. You’ll climb 90 feet into the sky, rocket through more than 1,000 feet of twisting coaster track at 45 mph, then splash down in the Boulder Canyon Community Pool.
In the story of CANNONBALL!, riders will travel to scenic Boulder Canyon, Holiday World’s Fourth of July-themed land, for the 37th Annual Cannonball Competition at the Boulder Canyon Community Center. Thanks to a new invention (aka this awesome ride), the competition now allows group entries for eight riders to compete to make the biggest cannonball splash.
CANNONBALL! will be the first and only water roller coaster in the Midwest and will break two records as the fastest water roller coaster in the nation and the tallest water roller coaster drop at 75 feet. This will be a fantastic addition to the catalog of rides in Holiday World. This park has over 45 rides split between the Holiday World theme park and the Slashin’ Safari water park. Your ticket does grant you access to both sections, so this really is an amazing experience that combines a classic theme park with a water park in a super fun way!
We’re so excited to ride this record-breaking water roller coaster when it opens in 2027. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more theme park news!
