The Hurly-Burly is set to open at Disney’s BoardWalk on October 1st. The space is taking over the old Jellyrolls building, and because of that, it has a lot to live up to. Fans were devastated when Jollyrolls closed, and everyone immediately started questioning what would take over the dueling pianos, which had been there for almost 30 years.

While some are excited for the Hurly-Burly and the new food and drinks it’s going to offer, others aren’t too thrilled. What does the public say about Hurly-Burly? Let’s find out!
Before we dive in too deep, what is the Hurly-Burly? The large restaurant and entertainment space will be open to families in the afternoons, with lively activities like trivia and games. Starting at 9 PM, the experience switches to guests ages 21 and older, with live music.

We checked out our social media to see what people were saying about the space. Some questioned the photos, asking, “Were these pics made with AI? They look so strange.”

One commenter said, “Every time I hear about a new Disney Dining location, I get excited, until they post the menu. Now this is just another place there’s no point going to, and further proof that Disney is catering to foodies and has turned its back on anyone else.”

Quite a few commenters said “Prefer Jellyrolls honestly” and shared their love for the original space.

With the recent changes to bus transportation that stop guests from taking the free buses at Disney Springs to resorts with a room or dining reservations, one guest expressed how the transportation will be frustrating. So guests are restricted from parking at Boardwalk, can’t take bus transportation to Boardwalk from Springs, so they expect guests to park at Studios and walk, as after the park closes no transportation back.” That’s a valid point!

We also saw some comments on Disney’s official post with a lot of positive comments like “GET IN MY BELLY!” and “Oh I am SO ready.” Someone else said, “A new set of sliders just walked into town!” and someone said, “Can’t wait to be a hurly burly girly.”

The restaurant is set to open on October 1st, and we’re excited to see what’s happening. The menu is set to be an all-day experience, so you can grab a bite during the family-friendly hours and late at night. Disney has been repainting the building, and while we haven’t seen the inside yet, the concept art makes it look like a lot of fun.

They’re certainly not making it easy to go to it with all the transport restrictions. Like one commenter pointed out, if you leave your car at a theme park, what are you supposed to do after it closes? With this having a night club aspect, not sure how anyone not staying right there is going to be able to experience it.
I wish WDW would reconsider the changes to the bus transportation. Are we going back to a segregated society? My sister and I are Boomers. When we visit we don’t go to the Parks everyday. We like to relax by the pool and visit other hotels to see what they have to offer. It’s also a change of scenery. Are we doing any harm? Sometimes, we might purchase a gift there. There are different tee shirts that I might consider for my young grandchildren. WDW: Stop listening to the minority visitors who complain the loudest.
A big let down
Yay for foodies! How it should be. I personally love food that’s fun, different, full of flavor and texture. Hooray for us foodies!!! Definitely more excited about this one now.
The transportation question is valid. How about free parking at the Boardwalk itself – with club validation?
Not a great move for another over priced eatery and gin mill. I can only hope they are not going to charge a cover. Thats what killed Jellyrolls for me. $5 cover when I started, i think it was near $20 when they closed down. I doubt I will go to this new place, no way to,get there from anywhere that isn’t a 30-60 minute trek.
