UPDATED: October 21, 2024

World Celebration is the first neighborhood guests encounter when entering EPCOT, with Spaceship Earth setting the iconic scene.

This neighborhood made its debut on October 1, 2021 (along with World Nature and World Discovery) as part of EPCOT’s historic transformation. (These three neighborhoods make up the area formerly known as Future World.)

After years of work, World Celebration at last reached completion on June 10, 2024 with the opening of CommuniCore Hall and Plaza!

World Celebration Attractions

Spaceship Earth

Not only does Spaceship Earth serve as EPCOT’s signature icon… it’s also an attraction! Spaceship Earth explores the history of human communication as you travel through time by way of an Omnimover-style ride vehicle.

And as the ride concludes, you may get a glimpse into your own FUTURE!

Journey Into Imagination with Figment

“From head to tail, he’s royal purple pigment, and there — Voila! — you’ve got a Figment!” And this Figment of Imagination will lead you on a whimsical and musical journey (with help from Dr. Nigel Channing) through the five senses!

After the ride, you can explore more by playing in The “What If” Labs in the connected ImageWorks!

Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival

Experience three Disney and Pixar short films in 4D!

3D sights are accompanied by sounds and other special effects, bringing you INTO the Pixar film experience like never before!

See Disney Pals (like Pluto!) near EPCOT’s Main Entrance, ready to wish you a GREAT DAY in EPCOT!

Along with providing dedicated spaces for EPCOT’s seasonal Festivals, CommuniCore Hall is also the location of a new year-round Mickey & Friends Meet-and-Greet!

We initially saw Minnie and Goofy greeting with Mickey, but be aware that the “& Friends” in the space may vary, so be ready for a surprise!

And rest assured that Mickey himself will always be present to SEE YA, PAL!!!

And you can find — and meet — the beloved FIGMENT in the Imagination pavilion!

NEW Encanto Show

As part of the CommuniCore opening celebration, a BRAND NEW Encanto stage show has made its debut! ¡Celebración Encanto! is a sing-along that features beloved songs — and characters! — from the film.

Forces of Nature

This 15-minute acrobatic show — Forces of Nature — comes from the same company that provides the Art Defying Gravity entertainment during the EPCOT Festival of the Arts!

Five AMAZING acrobats perform impressive stunts on a large globe-like stage near the World Celebration Gardens. Check the My Disney Experience app for showtimes.

JAMMitors

From trash cans and lids to brooms, every cleaning tool is fair game when the JAMMitors are laying down high-energy percussive beats in World Celebration!

Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app or the posted Information Boards in the park for performance times.

Spaceship Earth — Evening Transformation

Each evening, Spaceship Earth is transformed with beautiful lighting effects set to music.

While guests can enjoy this display after the sun goes down every night, you’ll likely catch an extra-special display themed to the park’s current seasonal Festival!

World Celebration Shopping and Merchandise

Creations Shop is EPCOT’s flagship store. Creations has replaced Mouse Gear (which closed in 2019 to make way for the transformation).

Mickey Mouse still serves as the inspiration for the location, as you’ll see him featured in a large mural on one of the walls and in smaller touches throughout the space.

All of the artwork featured is completely unique to the space and intended to showcase “the global, contemporary icon that Mickey has become for generations around the world.” The store features other additional details to make sure all guests feel welcome.

Around the base of Spaceship Earth you’ll spot Gateway Gifts, where you can pick up some Minnie Mouse Ears as you enter the park or a souvenir to remember your day as you leave.

Across the way, you’ll find Pin Traders — Camera Center. As the name implies, you’ll find OODLES of Disney Pins here. But you can also learn about Disney PhotoPass services, including Memory Maker, at this spot.

We mentioned Club Cool above as the location where you can sample Coca-Cola beverages from around the globe for FREE!

MORE World Celebration Fun

As guests exit Spaceship Earth, they get a fantastic view of the new Dreamers Point.

The “Walt the Dreamer” statue is a celebration of Walt’s dedication to the future, and also presents a great photo opportunity!

CommuniCore Hall and Communicore Plaza Festival Area

EPCOT’s historic — and lengthy — transformation is at long last COMPLETE! The final touch was the opening of CommuniCore Hall and Plaza in World Celebration on June 10th, 2024!

The new area serves as a central location for EPCOT’s rotating festivals throughout the year, providing a communal space to celebrate — and to provide additional programs for the events! Communicore Plaza is an outdoor space where guests can enjoy the festival offerings.

Inside, Communicore Hall is flexible enough to host a myriad of different things — food stalls, exhibition, mixology class, and so much more!

Festival Area Gardens

As the seasons — and seasonal Festivals — change throughout the year, this is reflected in the World Celebration hub divided into several different gardens. The gardens spread throughout four quadrants, and meet in the middle at a planter that offers a great photo spot with Spaceship Earth in the background.

The planter above is based on the five ring EPCOT logo. The gardens also evolve with the seasons! They offer plenty of shade and seating for guests, and each one has its own identity, with the ability to change to go along with the Festivals throughout the year.

At night, lighting in the area immerses guests in an evening experience that also changes throughout the year. In fact, the lights synchronize with the Spaceship Earth show and can be easily adapted to each new nighttime show every time it changes.
