A new nighttime spectacular has made its debut in Walt Disney World’s EPCOT: Luminous The Symphony of Us. This production — featuring fireworks, fountains, lasers, lighting effects, and unforgettable Disney songs — debuted on December 5th, 2023!

The new show was originally created as part of The Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary celebration: Disney 100 Years of Wonder.

Luminous — The Production
According to Disney, viewers can “Delight in a dramatic show designed to bring us all together. Marvel at a dazzling pageant of fireworks, fountains, music and lights set to an original composition. New music, along with evocative selections from the Disney songbook, come together to remind us that we are more alike than we are different.”

Luminous — The Music
Heartbeat Symphony
Luminous features a series of movements, and throughout the movements viewers hear two original songs, as well as new arrangements of classic Disney songs. The show begins with voices from around the World Showcase welcoming you to the gathering, followed by the original song, “Heartbeat Symphony.” You can listen to the song in the video below!

Beating of Our Hearts
The show concludes with another original number for the finale — “Beating of Our Hearts.” Disney worked with Pinar Toprak to make the score, which features the vocal talents of artists Sheléa and Katharine McPhee.

Luminous Showtimes
Luminous is typically shown at 9PM nightly. However, be sure to check the My Disney Experience app or posted schedule boards in the park to confirm the showtime during your visit.
Luminous Dining Packages
Two options for Dining Packages offer a meal at a participating restaurant in EPCOT with great viewing for a showing of the Luminous The Symphony of Us nighttime spectacular! Guests may choose from the Rose & Crown Fireworks Dining Package and the Spice Road Table Fireworks Dining Package.
The Rose & Crown Fireworks Dining Package offers a prix fixe meal, including an appetizer, an entrée, a dessert platter, and unlimited beverages. (Rose & Crown serves classic British dishes like Fish and Chips, Bangers and Mash, and Sticky Toffee Pudding.) Guests will be seated on the outdoor patio from which to enjoy Luminous.
The Spice Road Table Dining Package includes the guest’s choice of two small plates, a shared tagine and a dessert platter for the table, and unlimited beverages. (Spice Road Table serves Mediterranean small plates, such as Hummus Fries, Spiced Chicken, and Grilled Lamb Kefta.) Guests will be seated on the covered outdoor dining room in the Morocco pavilion from which to enjoy Luminous.

Luminous — Behind the Scenes
In a YouTube video, Disney has shared some behind the scenes information about how the production team was able to create this new pageant, and also addressed the fact that the spectacular involves barges in order to provide the show’s effects. Many fans will be happy to hear that these new barges move! Unlike the barges in Harmonious (which guests had mixed feelings about), these barges come out just for the show and go away after it’s over. This leaves the lake (and our view) barge-free most of the day. The Cast Member in the video mentioned that it’s a “blank slate” before and after the show.
