A couple of pieces of fun food news for you today!
Pollo Campero, Fresh-A-Peel and BabyCakes NYC Now On Disney Dining Plan
These Downtown Disney restaurants share neighborhood space and all have been added to the Disney Dining Plan. The new bakery on the block, BabyCakes NYC, is offering single-serve items as a Disney Dining Plan snack choice. Sick of popcorn? Then, BabyCakes NYC is your new best friend! (We LURVE the frosting-filled cookie sandwiches!)
And here’s another fantastic option – if you purchase a Quick Service meal with your DDP at Pollo Campero or Fresh-A-Peel – a BabyCakes NYC bakery item can be redeemed for your quick service dessert!
We don’t need a reason to visit these new eateries but these Disney Dining Plan options sure make a stop here extra credit-worthy!

Chef Scott Hunnel Is Named A Semi-Finalist For A James Beard Award
Congratulations to Chef Scott Hunnel! The Victoria and Albert’s Chef has been named as a semi-finalist in the Best Chef South category in the James Beard Foundation’s 2011 Restaurant and Chef Awards.
Look for a list of finalists to be announced on March 21 in Portland, Oregon. As we cheer on Chef Hunnel, we’ll be closely watching for the winners who will be named on May 9 at New York City’s Lincoln Center.
Under Hunnel’s innovative leadership, Victoria and Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has won many prestigious local, national and international nods. This exclusive restaurant has also won nine consecutive AAA Five Diamond Awards and twenty consecutive Mobil Travel Guide Four Star Awards. Join me in congratulating Chef Hunnel on even more success!

Hats off to Chef Hunnel. I wish you the best of luck.
My fingers are crossed for you, too, Chef!
That’s awesome to know that the Babycakes are available on the DDP! I’m really interested to try their stuff – everything looks delicious!
Having a Babycakes dessert with a counter meal is great. Most of the counter desserts are at best average and in many cases, forgettable. This is great information.
I think I got a cavity just from looking at the photo of that Babycakes dessert.
Congratulations Chef Scott Hunnel on being named as a semi-finalist in the James Beard Foundation’s 2011 Restaurant and Chef Awards. I look forward, with great anticipation, to dining at Victoria & Albert’s in October. I wish you continued success.
