Popcorn is a staple snack at theme parks. It’s the perfect parade-waiting, fireworks-viewing, queue-calming munchie at Walt Disney World. And unless you purchase your popcorn in a pricey souvenir bucket, you’ll spend one snack credit or about $3.95 to $4.95 for a small box/bag.
Most of us are familiar with the traditional flavors such as butter, cheddar, kettle corn, and caramel. But, have you tried any of the specialty flavors?
Pre-Packaged Popcorn
The DisneyParks Blog recently found some interesting popcorn varieties at Disney’s Hollywood Studios — Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Mint, and Chocolate Caramel were all on display in pre-packaged bags.
And here are some of the Disney popcorn flavors that we reported on last year.
Indecisive? Grab the bag of Chocolate Cheddar Caramel! Apparently the Consumables Team (a superhero sounding name, if you ask me) is testing this salty and sweet mixture to see if guests find it, well, consumable. Flavor testing? Sign me up.
Patrice Guy, a developer on the Team, says sales results show that “it is proving to be popular with our guests.” Maybe this flavor will be in a Disney Park on your next visit!
Vinylmation
Fans (and Erin, our resident vinylmation guru) should stay tuned for Vinylmation Popcorns.
Vinylmation designer Thomas Scott indicated that characters will be “re-imagined” into a whole new look. Look for a summertime release!
Popcorn Tin
In other popcorn news, there’s a new character-laden tin being offered at Walt Disney World and Disneyland parks. Pop open the lid and you’ll find three varieties — confetti, chocolate caramel, and caramel — for your snacking pleasure.
Stop by the Main Street Emporium or World of Disney to get your munchies in this fabulous tin. It’ll set you back $12.95.
What test flavors of popcorn would YOU like to see on your next visit to the Disney Parks?

Did you know you could get a second passport? Here's how.
I always buy the pre-packaged caramel popcorn as a snack for my ride home from Disney World. I may need to try one of these new flavors. The Cookies and Cream and Chocolate Caramel sound delicious!
The chocolate caramel is delicious! We get some to share while we watch Fantasmic!
I always grab a bag of the Chocolate Carmel for my ride home from Disneyland! Fair warning Kat, it’s addictive!
Curry popcorn! I don’t have a sweet tooth, but I love savory flavors of popcorn.
Ok, chocolate cheddar caramel sounds amazing! I’m going to look for it this weekend.
We have used truffle salt to top our homemade popcorn before and it was terrific! We got our truffle salt from the Spice and Tea Exchange in DTD and I imagine with the wide variety of salts and sugars/spices from this one location you could make a bunch of great popcorn varieties! Imagine hickory smoked or lime coconut salt on freshly popped kernels?!?
Ooh! Count me in with Jen. That sounds good. Also, a Chile-Lime might be nice.
(side note: Penzeys has a salt-free spice blend called Arizona Dreaming that is terrific on popcorn, btw. Slight BBQ, slight spice, slight citrus, no sweetness, all good.)
Just a nod to Penzey’s…their spices are the best.
I LOVED the black pepper popcorn at DCA and would LOVE to see it at WDW!
olive oil with salt and pepper is very good and somewhat healthier then the “butter” flavour
I would love a ranch flavor and a jalapeno flavor. When I go to Regal Cinemas up here in the NorthWest, they have a shaker of Ranch or Jalapeno spices you can shake on and they are delicious. Maybe if they even offered the spices to shake on regular popcorn then they would not have to flavor them, we could do ourselves.
I’d love to purchase Disney World Tin shown above, is there any way we can purchase it from disneystore.com?
Can you purchase the Disney popcorn and have it shipped to your home?
Summer — Disney usually won’t ship food (packaged or otherwise) but give the merchandise hotline a try (1-877-560-6477) to be sure. Good luck!
