Um…is it seriously possible that I haven’t already written this post?!?
You guys know how much I lurve peanut butter and anything peanut buttery, so I’m pretty surprised I haven’t done this article yet for you. BUT, it’s time to correct that error!!
As you can imagine, this is such an epic post that it will encompass my favorite peanut butter treats in both Disney World and Disneyland. If you’ve ever needed a reason to visit one or the other of the coasts, but haven’t been able to come up with one…well, you’re welcome.
Get ready to crave!
Peanut Butter, Banana, and Candied Bacon Pie at BoardWalk Bakery
One of the newer PB treats that I’ve run across is the fantastic Peanut Butter, Banana, and Candied Bacon Pie. Find this incredible square-shaped tart at the newly renovated BoardWalk Bakery (read our complete review of the brand new space here.)
The pie has everything. Check out the combo of sweet-salty all smooshed together into a soft and crunchy texture.
Even though it’s brand new, it’s already a classic in my book.
If you haven’t made a visit to the new BoardWalk Bakery, drop what you’re doing and go. Now. (And bring me one of these.)
Oh, and I have to show you the inside…
That filling is like nothing you’ve ever had before… . Sigh.
Peanut Butter Brownie Creme Sandwich at Earl of Sandwich
I’ve gotta admit…this is one of my favorite sandwiches at the Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney.
While the regular sammys are great here (my favorite is the Italian Sandwich), their Brownie Frosting Sandwiches (or brownie creme sandwiches as they call them) are totally where it’s at. These come in vanilla and chocolate as well as the decadent Peanut Butter Brownie Sandwich.
Two super-moist, super-fudgy brownies (with chocolate chunks in ’em, too!) envelop a thick serving of peanut butter filling. And the peanut butter here isn’t whipped or light — it’s full-on peanut-butter-cup-filling.
Nice and dense, it’s the perfect consistency to stand up to the brownie. This one is a must-try.
Peanut Butter Sandwich
Ah, such an unassuming name for such a knock-em-dead treat. The Disneyland Peanut Butter Sandwich may be the perfect peanut butter and chocolate snack.
Made with just three ingredients — peanut butter filling, a graham cracker, and milk chocolate — it sounds so crazy simple. And yet, I cannot resist getting one of these every time I’m at Pooh Corner in Disneyland’s Critter Country. (You can also find ’em at Candy Palace, Trolley Treats, and more spots in Disneyland and DCA!)
I think it’s that full half inch of peanut butter that makes the difference. Clearly, this is fortified with enough sugar to keep its shape when you bite through the chocolate coating.
No Way Jose
Hands down, my favorite ice cream creation…ever…anywhere…of all time…is the No Way Jose Sundae from Beaches and Cream.
This ginormous sundae of awesomeness combines scoops of vanilla and chocolate ice cream and big ol’ helpings of both hot fudge and peanut butter sauce (cough…always order extra peanut butter…cough). It’s finished with a huge crown of whipped cream, and topped with peanut butter and chocolate chips and a cherry.
Seriously, don’t you want to just dive in?!?
If you don’t want to share, that’s fine. Just plan on having this one for lunch instead. Or, you can be like me and just eat all of the peanut butter out of it.
PB&J Shake at 50s Prime Time Cafe
Think you have to forego the peanut butter when it comes time to choose a beverage? Think again! 50s Prime Time Cafe’s Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshake means you never have to miss a chance to consume your favorite food!
While I always taste more PB than J in this one (with a healthy hint of vanilla from the ice cream), it’s still a delicious combo of flavors.
Chocolate Peanut Butter cupcake at Starring Rolls Cafe
SO pretty. Here we have an ideal blend of chocolate and peanut butter, all crowned with delicate chocolatey shavings.
Those crazy geniuses at Starring Rolls Cafe created a masterpiece with their Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake.
It looks like it’s alllll chocolate, but the fudgy center is where you’ll find some serious peanut butter flavor.
Starring Rolls is home to some of the best cupcakes on the planet, and this one ranks right up there at the top. It even comes close to winning first place from another peanut buttery favorite of mine here — the Butterfinger Cupcake!
Peanut Butter Heaven
The first time I saw this candy at Disneyland, I was dubious. Peanut Butter Heaven, oh yeah? I’ll be the judge of that.
But you know what? It IS heaven. I’m going to share a full review of this with you very soon, but I couldn’t deny it a place in this list first!
This candy, which can best be described as an enormous chocolate and peanut butter and peanuts and caramel bonbon, holds a wonderful little secret: it’s actually built on a base of a peanut turtle! When you bite into it, you not only taste the awesome chocolate and peanut butter combo. You also get whole peanuts and buttery caramel! Heaven. (Get it?)
Ghirardelli’s Gold Rush Sundae
UPDATE: Please note that the Gold Rush Sundae is no longer being served at Ghirardelli’s as of March 2015.
My very favorite treat at Ghirardelli Chocolate Shop and Soda Fountain is the Gold Rush Peanut Butter Sundae, hands down.
Layers of vanilla ice cream alternate with hot fudge and melted peanut butter — and by now you know that melted peanut butter is pretty much a food group for me.
It’s very similar to the No Way Jose mentioned above, but it has that bonus Ghirardelli chocolate square as garnish. I love when my dessert is topped with more dessert.
Monkey Cupcake
Time to monkey around at the Caribbean Beach Resort with another fun combo — peanut butter and bananas! This combo comes together in the Monkey Cupcake!
The peanut butter here comes in at the top — in the frosting, that is. Fluffy frosting crowns the vanilla cake, which hides a sweet surprise: banana cream filling in the middle. (There is actually a chocolate cake version as well, if you just can’t fathom eating your peanut butter without a little chocolate thrown in.)
You’ll find this treat in Old Port Royale Food Court at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. It’s basically the same creation as Everything Pop Food Court’s King Cupcake (which we hear may have flown the coop now) — sans the candied bacon.
Peanut Butter Fudge
No list of Disney treats would be complete without at least one entry of fudge, wouldn’t you agree? And one of my favorites is the Peanut Butter kind.
This is really a purist kinda choice. It’s been a mainstay at Disney Parks forever, and many guests love it so much that they opt to take some home as a (short-lived) souvenir. (Really…does it even survive the trip home without being eaten? Tell the truth.)
If you like peanut butter in your fudge but prefer something a littler jazzier, check out the Reese’s Pieces Fudge the next time you’re in the parks around the Fall holidays. Swirls of chocolate and peanut butter fudge make a gorgeous backdrop to the seasonally-colored candies.
Selma’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie
Sometimes you’ll find Selma’s cookies in Disney bakery cases, and sometimes they’re individually wrapped as Minnie’s Bake Shop treats. However you find them, you’ve gotta try ’em.
Especially if we’re talking about one of my favorite varieties: Selma’s Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookie. The giant peanut butter cookies are soft and filled with chocolate chunks, which means that you get both flavors in nearly every bite.
These are a Disney guest favorite, and you can definitely see why.
Need More Peanut Butter?
It’s clear from the number of yummo peanut butter treats that I am not the only fan out there! We’ve only just scratched the surface with these options. Believe me, I could go on. Here are a few of my “runners up!”
The Peanut Butter and Jelly Crème Brûlée from Flying Fish Cafe had me raving and ready to go back for seconds!
Cupcake fans are sure to recommend the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake at Contempo Cafe.
And loyal BoardWalk Bakery fans will register their votes for the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake (which received a facelift with the bakery’s recent renovation).
Whichever one (or seven) that you decide to try, I’m pretty sure you peanut butter lovers out there will find something PB to rave about during your next Disney trip. And if you find something I’ve missed, please! Share!
Will you be seeking out a peanut butter treat on your next trip to Disney? Tell us your favorites below!

OK…I admit it. I’ve been watching from the sidelines for quite a while, but have found the need to take the plunge and write my first comment!
I am dying to try the Peanut Butter Heaven! My hubby and I are taking my peanut butter addicted 2 year old to Disneyland next week and this would be “Heaven” for her! Any chance you can tell me where to find these?
Nicole says
Peanut butter and chocolate is my all-time favorite combination. And as such, I am happy to report that the King Cupcake was alive and well at Pop 6 days ago when I last enjoyed one. Hopefully that hasn’t changed since then!

AJ, you’ve really outdone yourself with this post! As if my mouth doesn’t water enough every morning when I read your blog, this has gone above and beyond! I’m glad to say I’ve had a couple of these treats (selma’s cookie, pb brownie sandwich), and I’m looking forward to trying many more on my upcoming trip. Also I think a petition needs to be started that brings that peanut butter sandwich over to WDW from Disneyland (and that peanut butter heaven, too!) – YUM!
Josephine says
Chocolate and peanut butter anything is my favorite so you are speaking my language with this post! Can’t wait to try as many of these as possible on our next trip :). The ones I’ve tried so far have been amazing…
Josephine says
And, although I like chocolate and pb, the peanut butter is the star for me!!
Jennifer says
Don’t forget the All American Sundae at The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom! Its peanut buttery and amazing!!
Anastasia says
Yeah I was at Pop yesterday and the King cupcake was still available (and delicious!)
jenny says
I love peanut butter and chocolate, so I don’t really know which one to try first. 🙂
Yumm OH!

Great minds think alike! A friend is going to WDW this Friday, and I was just telling her that she HAS to get the chocolate peanut butter cupcake at Starring Rolls! It is one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten anywhere. And Sandy, I would happily sign that petition!
Deana says
I recently tried the peanut butter and jelly cupcake at Captn’ Cooks (Polynesian) and it… well, it made for a fantastic lunch. LOL
It was good, but WOW, you weren’t kidding when you reviewed it as being very sweet. It was. But worth every bite!

I finally got to try both the EoS PB Brownie Sndwich and the Peanut Butter Sandwich while at DL in March. Holy smokes!!! Yum to the 10th degree!!
Now I have my eyes on the No Way Jose and/or the Gold Rush Sundae at WDW in September!
Melissa Stolasz says
This entry is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. Best line: “I love when my dessert is topped with more dessert.” Seriously… can we get that on a T-Shirt AJ?
Kari says
Why don’t they sell the PB sandwich at WDW. Why oh why! Oh, well just an excuse to head out to California.
Jennifer says
Don’t forget the good old chocolate peanut butter cups sold in numerous places around WDW. I make sure I always bring a couple home with me 😉
Michele says
This is one of the best posts I’ve read on this blog! Peanut butter is one of my all time favorite things in the entire world… and desserts that contain it are even better! I can never leave Disneyland without getting a peanut butter sandwich… they are amazing! And now I have a few things at WDW that I need to add to my list of things to try! Thanks!
Becca says
Y’know, I don’t like peanuts or peanut butter here in the UK, but after being strongarmed into trying the Trio of Valrhona Chocolate by the server at Yachtsman Steakhouse, I’ve realised that peanut butter is yet another food item that Americans do soooooo much better! Now I have to start working my way through the list!
Amanda says
You have to try the PB&J soda at Carnation Cafe! It’s a favorite of mine and my boyfriends!
Leslie says
Thanks AJ! I’m so ready to try all of these. This will give me some motivation to stick to this diet until I get to WDW in September.
Amy says
I can’t believe the King Cupcake at Pop century wasn’t on the list! SOOOOO good!
I also can’t wait to try the Bakery Pie!!!
Bonnie Cribbs says
That peanut butter & jelly shake at 50’s Prime Time Cafe is so incredible! I have been known to have two in one day…. but shhhhh, don’t tell my personal trainer!…or doctor.
What a GREAT list!
Alissa N says
I never bothered going into the Earl of Sandwich before, but ever since I discovered this brownie sandwich (from you) I can’t wait for my next trip to check it out!!
I also now really want a sundae. Peanut butter sauce sounds like something that should come out of the taps in heaven. It would be between that and plastic cheese. Maybe both? Just not at the same time.. that might be too weird.
Godfrey says
Umm..hands down the peanut butter and jelly shake from The Fountain, in the WDW Dolphin is the best ever. I havent tried the one at HS, but one sip of this one, and I dont need to.
Essie says
Oh, AJ, you’ve outdone yourself with this wonderful article, but is there a possibility that you may not be aware of? I’ve heard that the PB&J shake at the 50’s Primetime is so good, but did you know that you can ask for it to be a Chocolate PB shake rather than Jelly if you want? *SIGH* Now I guess you’ll have to go back to WDW’s HS’s 50’s Primetime, try a Chocolate PB Shake and do another report for us (Well, someone has to do it and you do seem like the best person for the job.). 😉
carlos says
They have the darth vader cupcake during the star wars weekend and its just amazing! and I’m not a big fan of chocolate and peanut butter together but it was excellent!
Wild Wes Willie says
I enjoyed the PB&J cupcake at Captain Cooks.
Lisa says
As a PB junkie, I have to say I am drooling reading this list. And I will be taking this list with me for my next trip to WDW.
Joy @ Baking-Joy says
Oh my goodness. I have tried some of these (Gold Rush Sundae being a real favourite, with extra PB!) but need to complete the list! You’re totally right, melted peanut butter is a food group 🙂
Alexa says
I just got so hungry! I can’t decide which option looks the best!
Rach says
If the Jose is too much, go for the Grilled Banana Bread and Peanut Butter sandwich at Beaches & Cream. Such a perfect balance of PB, bananas & ice cream. Mmmmmmm.
Jodi S. says
We are going to DL in 1 month, 1 week & 3 days… not to be too specific, lol 😉 Where can we find the Peanut Butter Heaven?!
Bonnie Cribbs says
Last night I had dinner at Beaches & Cream, because of one of your post on the best Cheeseburgers at WDW. It was supreme! I was trying to remember what peanut butter dessert you had mentioned from there, and I went with the Grilled Banana Bread & Peanut Butter…I don’t believe it was mentioned in this post but OH MY WORD, this thing was incredible!
AJ says
Bonnie — I’m so glad you had a great meal!! I love that place 🙂
Amber says
My favorite peanut butter snack is the peanut butter caramel cookie at the Karamel shop in Germany. Absolutely delicious! My favorite of all the cookies there (I have tried them all).
Cheryl says
I’m all about the Gold Rush and the No Way Jose but I’d have to have them add marshmallow topping for it to be truly superior!
Brandy says
Love the No Way Jose!! Also love the thick yet soft peanut butter cookie from the Big Top shop in Magic Kingdom near Dumbo ride!! It was large but I snacked on it all afternoon!! Yum!!
