Welcome back to Intermission Food Court!
Located in All Star Music Resort, Intermission Food Court shares a lot in common with its fellow All Star Food Courts: End Zone and World Premiere in All Star Sports and All Star Movies, respectively.
You’ll find lots of Counter Service classics like burgers, chicken nuggets, pizzas, hot dogs, and the like. And while you can find menu items unique to each spot and plenty of good grub (remember those super fun milkshakes we talked about earlier this summer?), things can start to feel a bit same ol’, same ol’ every so often.
Which is why it was a fun surprise to find a new savory snack at Intermission! I mean, what about those moments when you’re kinda over French Fries and chips? Enter: Fried Pickles… when you can find them, that is (more on that later).
These Fried Pickles are an option as a side for an entree, and you can also get them as a snack on their own. They come with six pickle spears and a pouch of Ken’s Ranch Dressing.
The pickles are coated in a thick batter, which is packed with dill. So packed, you can’t miss it. They’re fried golden brown and a have a satisfying crunch when you bite into them.
Guests who really dig batter will like these. But those who are more into the pickle might not be as happy. They’re kinda on the thin side, so you don’t get as much actual juicy, briney pickle as you might expect.
The sizeable gap in the top layer of the batter makes us wonder if maybe the soft interior of the pickle cooked down in the frying process, and maybe disappeared a bit. But the overall flavor and texture are really good. And these are definitely a break from the typical savory food court snack.
The Ranch Dressing is obviously standard, but it does go well with the heavily dill-infused pickles.
At $4.49 (or a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan), these might be a bit of a stretch in terms of value. There are six spears, but they aren’t exactly huge. So, the Fried Pickles, which are an appetizer at Sci-Fi Dine In are still the best option if you’re… umm, in a pickle when it comes to finding the best Fried Pickles. But if you want something different in the food court and love that dill flavor, these could be a winner for you!
Now, here’s the deal with finding them: the Fried Pickles aren’t available every day. They carry them for special events and such at the Resort, so when they DO have them, they’ll also sell them at the food court until they are sold out. So, if you don’t see them on the menu, be sure to ask if you’re interested… you may have a bit of Fried Pickle luck!

Those look most fantastic. I wish there were more WDW locations that had them.
