In addition to the Tomorrowland Speedway reopening for guests today, we got a GREAT view of the progress on the upcoming TRON coaster — things are going vertical!
We first spotted some of the vertical beams (some of which will be 80 ft tall!) going up at the beginning of May. You can check out some more photos of the construction and everything else that’s new in the Magic Kingdom here!
The project has already been under construction for over a year now, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.
The TRON attraction already exists at Disneyland Shanghai as the TRON Lightcycle Power Run, and some of the workers who built the original attraction are working on this one as well. The attraction will have riders “getting digitized” while they “race as a team against some opponents.” And from what we hear the daytime and nighttime experience will be completely different!
You can read more about the coming attraction — along with how it’s affecting the rest of Magic Kingdom — here. The new attraction will open in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World in 2021!
