Disney has released a few details about what’s to come at the 2019 D23 Expo which will take place in Anaheim from August 23rd – 25th and will include an information release involving Epcot’s transformation.
The transformation of Epcot has already begun in earnest with construction of the Guardians of the Galaxy ride to the space-themed restaurant opening later this year (to name only two of several new eateries and attractions coming to the park). And of course, that’s not all that’s happening at Epcot.
The front of the park is also getting a huge overhaul as well starting with the removal of the Leave A Legacy monoliths to prepare for a new park entry experience.
And Disney has alluded to even MORE changes coming to the park. In a recent announcement, the company shared that they will be revealing more information about changes coming to “the core of the park on the opposite side of Spaceship Earth,” and that these changes will create new areas flanking the attraction for guests to enjoy.
Disney also revealed that a few new park icons, like the ones for The Land and Imagination! pavilions will be revealed at the expo as well.
These are being created for new experiences like the new play-themed pavilion that is coming to the park.
Disney will also will be sharing information on the updated films coming to Future World (such as “Awesome Planet”) and World Showcase along with the scoop on new dining experiences on the way.
So stay tuned! Because this year’s D23 Expo will take place from August 23-25 in Anaheim, California. Click here for more information!

I love that they are giving EPCOT the love it deserves. I love this park, and have wanted to see them update for a long time. I hope it turns out as beautiful as the picture!
I’m also not sorry to see Leave A Legacy go away. I never thought it added anything to the park. Just ugly and in the way (in my humble opinion).

I agree James.
The Leave A Legacy always seemed like futuristic tombstones to me.
Maybe it’s fun if you are on one of them and you can visit it?
But yeah – not inviting at all.

Futuristic tombstones…I totally agree. All the monoliths are ugly and just clog up the entrance.Never understood the appeal of putting yourself on the things, anyway. Glad to see them go.

What needs to be added to Epcot are new countries to visit; and less coasters. Disney is changing to an amusement park instead of a theme park. Not Walt’s concept or even close anymore.
