Choices include Chocolate Bourbon, Coconut Avocado, Blueberry Cheesecake, Sorghum Black Pepper, and Coconut Chocolate Almond, among others.
We went with three of the “among others” 🙂 : Honey with Chocolate Crunchies, Olive Oil and Lemon, and Strawberry Shortcake!
The Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream comes topped with crumbled biscuits, and lends this dish the taste of a traditional strawberry shortcake, only frozen!
You can see the huge chunks of strawberry inside, and the biscuits add a nice hint of salt. They totally nailed this ice cream take on the classic dessert.
The Olive Oil and Lemon Ice Cream is nice and refreshing, but didn’t carry the same “wow” factor for us.
The drizzled layer of olive oil is a unique addition, but not one with broad appeal necessarily. While the lemon flavor is nice and pronounced, the oil may be a bit off-putting for some.
The house favorite among the staff we spoke with is the Honey with Chocolate Crunchies, and after the Strawberry Shortcake, this comes in as a close second for us.
It was the last we tried, so the Florida melting game was full on, but it didn’t change the fact that you can really pick up on the rich honey flavor in the cream, and the chocolate crunchies — which are honeycomb covered in dark chocolate — are the perfect addition in both taste and texture. (Seriously, YUM!)
The small scoops of memorable artisanal flavors at The Basket are $3.00 each, and perfect if you’re looking for just a few bites of something sweet in Disney Springs… perhaps after your meal at Wine Bar George right upstairs!
