I’m LIVING for all The Little Mermaid merch right now. While I already have 20+ thingamabobs, Disney just keeps tempting me with the release of amazing Ariel items.
Despite the new jewelry, Minnie Ears, and a hat, I can’t help but say: “no big deal, I want more!” And, Disney World is absolutely providing with the latest The Little Mermaid MagicBand.
Bubbling up at the Frontier Trading Post in Magic Kingdom, the limited edition The Little Mermaid 30th Anniversary MagicBand is worth flipping your fins over!
The light blue commemorative band features Sebastian, Flounder, a Dinglehopper, and Ariel in her famous “Part of Your World” pose. I am in love with the gorgeous artwork on this one, you guys! You can purchase it in-store for $29.99 or online at Shop Disney.

I was just wondering, if it makes sense to buy one if I’m planning on going to Disney but not sure when yet? Ive been dying to go but I live in Canada! I currently have it in my cart on ShopDisney but I’m debating if I should leave it!
DFB Sarah says
Nicole, it should be usable for the foreseeable future, if that helps. 🙂
Abby Swint says
I’m obsessed with this Magic Band! Ariel is my all-time favorite princess! But I’m curious about the longevity: if I buy this now, has the 2 years of battery life already started? Or do bands bought from the parks or ShopDisney stay dormant until activation for a trip? I won’t be visiting Disney World again for about 18 months, and I’d love to be able to use this more than once!
DFB Sarah says
Abby, the tap function of the MagicBand lasts many years, in our experience. The long-range RFID that helps Be Our Guest find you in the restaurant or that puts your name on the screens on ‘it’s a small world’ requires that 2-year battery, but even still we’ve had them last for upwards of four years.
