While visiting Disney World’s Art of Animation Resort, we discovered a trip hack for earning a FREE pin (ours featured the new Skyliner!)! It’s true what they say: the best things in life are free!
Adding a new pin to your collection is as easy as A-B-C! It begins with a Scavenger Hunt that requires participants to find character icons all over the Resort. As you find the icons — including Lightning McQueen, Flounder, and Rafiki — write the letter of the icon in the correct circle on the Resort map. See? Simple as A-B-C… or A through J as the case may be. 😉
You’ll head to the front desk to pick up your Scavenger Hunt at the start, and then head back there to redeem your prize (for us it was a Skyliner Pin, but the prizes may change) at the end!
Our prize pin features Mickey and Minnie inside a red gondola as they travel over the treetops to their next exciting adventure!
Click here to learn more about Disney’s Skyliner gondola system!
We’ve seen these pins before — given to guests at Caribbean Beach Resort as a thank you for tolerating construction of that Resort’s Skyliner station. So we’re excited guests of AoA can get their bling now, too!
But remember, prizes can change at any time. Even if you DON’T get this particular pin, it’s still a fun and FREE family adventure for your resort day in Disney World!

Do you have to be staying at the resort to participate?
Sounds fun! We are @ WDW now but not staying @ AOA. Do you have to be a guest at AOA to participate in the Scavenger Hunt? Thanks for your help.
Do all the resorts have a scavenger hunt with a prize?
Do you have to be staying at this resort or can you just go visit and do the hunt?? And as someone else asked do other resorts have this perk too?
Courtney, you do not need to be a guest of the Resort! We’ve seen scavenger hunts at at other Resorts, most recently Wilderness Lodge and Port Orleans — French Quarter! Let me see if I can get a more comprehensive list from our on-site team. Just keep in mind, these are not always going on; we typically happen upon them when we’re doing research! But more and more we’re seeing some fun and different activities at the Resorts!
TJ, I’m going to try to pull together a list of Resorts we know we’ve seen them at. The most recent are Art of Animation, Wilderness Lodge, and Port Orleans — French Quarter.
Jenn, nope! Anyone who visits the Resort can participate.
Beth, anyone can play!
Pop Century has a scavenger hunt too (we’ve done it multiple times over the past couple years), but the prize has always been some little (cheap) plastic game or funky glasses, styrofoam glider, pencil etc, the type of stuff you can order in bulk from a company like Oriental Trading. Kids are shown all the goodies in a small suitcase and can pick one thing per completed hunt (you can see it open and on display behind the check in desk, usually near their pin trading board, which is made to look like a rubic’s cube if memory serves.) A pin though!? That would be awesome.
Thanks for sharing, Dana!
Wish I could be there but not all of us can afford a magical trip to the best place on earth !
FYaI the prize now is a pin from their trading board, not the Skylines pin 🙂
They now changed the policy and only guest of the resort can get the prize 🙁
They are cracking down, we just went and were told we can do the scavenger hunt paper but we would get no prize unless we are staying at Art Of Animation.
