Hotel stays have been part of Disney World from the very beginning. The Contemporary and the Polynesian opened with the rest of the resort on October 1st, 1971. In the last 50+ years, Disney has opened nearly 30 hotels on property in 3 resort categories – Deluxe, Moderate, and Value.

However, not every Disney World experience can be perfect. In fact, we’ve run into some issues even at Walt Disney World’s most exquisite resorts.

In summer 2027, Disney’s Art of Animation will be getting a refresh, and going under the sea is about to get even better.
Disney World’s annual summer bash just kicked off yesterday! Cool KIDS’ SUMMER is a celebration across all four Disney World parks that brought new ride openings like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, Soarin’ Across America, and the Walt Disney Studios Courtyard. Wow! What a week it’s been in Disney World. For starters, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopened after a YEAR of being closed with some pretty cool changes.

On the food front, we’ve been able to enjoy some new DOLE Whip treats (ALWAYS our fave thing), and we found our new favorite summer drink in EPCOT. Of course, Disney World restaurants changed their menus this week, like they always do, so let’s take a look at those changes.

Pop Century
Since its opening in 2019, the Skyliner gondola system has become one of Disney’s most popular transportation methods, linking EPCOT and Hollywood Studios with the Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, and the Riviera Resort. However, the service will be closed for a period early next year.
