Currently, the four Walt Disney World theme parks (and both water parks) are temporarily closed as part of the efforts to promote safety due to concerns over the Coronavirus. However, following closure of the parks, select areas of the Resort remained in service of guests during a transitional phase.
As the Resort went through its closing phases, we continually updated this post daily as various parts of the Resort begin their temporary closures, and we are keeping it current at this time. Here is an at-a-glance list of the status of Disney World operations.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
Guests who will be at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel over the next few days before the hotels are closed on March 20, 2020 at 5:00 PM due to concerns over the Coronavirus will want to be advised of some additional changes which will also take place this week.
According to the Walt Disney World website, “All Disney transportation will be suspended beginning the morning of Wednesday, March 18, 2020 through the end of the month.” (Please note that Disney’s Magical Express will continue to transport guests to and from the airport through March 20.) Hey, everyone, we’ve got another update for you today from the Walt Disney World Resort! We’re heading over to check on what’s happening at Disney’s Pop Century and All-Star Resorts.
It looks like there’s some construction, food, and merch updates to get through, so let’s dive in.
Now, Disney is adding to a collection of accessories that was released last year. Do y’all remember the Orange Bird, Figment, and Stitch Park Pals that were released last year? Well, we just found out that you can add a new friend to your collection.
The Disney Skyliner is a new mode of transportation offered to help guests get around Walt Disney World resort. If you’re staying at one of the four Disney resorts on the Skyliner, you can now get to Hollywood Studios or Epcot in a matter of minutes by hopping on the gondola line.
While up until this point, the other options for free transportation at Disney World have stayed the same for the resorts on the Skyliner line, it looks like that has now changed!
